Introduction

Hello from Judi and Ron, and welcome to our profile.

We’re a young at heart retired couple, with grown up children no longer at home. We’re adaptable, reliable, and honest.

I’m originally from the UK and Ron is Canadian. I’ve lived in Canada for many years, and Ron was born here, in Ontario. I still have relatives and friends in the UK, as well as in Australia.

We lived in the city for many years, but we now live on acreage, in a more rural area, with beautiful views of snow-capped mountains in the winter months, and where we can go snow shoeing and Cross-country skiing.

We’ve always owned our own homes. Ron is a real handyman, and can fix just about anything he puts his hand to.

He also loves anything to do with wood, and is an expert carver, having entered many competitions and coming home with tons of blue ribbons! His speciality is ‘chip carving’ and has made some amazingly intricate wooden plates, as well as some gorgeous jewelry boxes, amongst other things ...

My hobby is stained glass. Most of what I’ve made has been sold to work colleagues and friends, so I'm always in my studio working on the next project!

I also enjoy baking, and gardening is another passion of mine, and we both enjoy cutting the grass on our ride-on lawnmower.

We also enjoy riding our bikes, walking and snow shoeing. We do enjoy the occasional glass of wine with dinner, but have always been non-smokers.

Having had responsible and demanding jobs in a government-agency, we retired 5 years ago, and moved away from the city. Ron was an Occupational Safety Officer, and I was an Admin Assistant.

Since we moved, we’ve spent most of our time renovating/building/landscaping our home and property. We also bought an RV (recreation vehicle) so we could travel around our beautiful country, and our very 1st road-trip, was through the Rockies. A never-to–be-forgotten trip!

We now have the travel bug (as well as the time) and would like to explore/discover places further away.

Although we no longer have pets of our own, over the years we've had a Labrador, a Schnauzer and a Chesapeake Bay retriever.

We’ve house sat and looked after our friends/colleagues pets on numerous occasions, which gave us great pleasure and provided us with lots of love! There’s nothing like getting a welcome from a happy dog!

Why I want to housesit

Housesitting would give us the opportunity to meet new people, make new, long-lasting friendships, explore/visit new places, and of course, give your pets the love and attention that they deserve, while you’re enjoying your time away.

We are experienced sitters, and are looking forward with anticipation to this new adventure.

Being retired and on a limited income, house sitting would also help us with our budget. We could avoid staying in a 'cold' hotel environment,and could enjoy having our own ‘home away from home’ where we could enjoy the company/love/warmth from your delightful pets and feel relaxed at the same time.

We’d consider it a privilege to be entrusted with your precious possessions, while providing you with peace of mind, knowing that your home and pets will be lovingly taken care of.

If we needed to travel overseas to get to an assignment, we would be looking for mid-to-long term sits (a minimum of 3 weeks, and preferably longer)

What I bring to the assignment / relevant experience

We've been together for many years, and always owned our own properties; so know how to maintain a home and deal with issues that arise, and would do the same for yours, if necessary.

We are a genuine couple, who would take great pleasure in looking after your pets as if they were our own. Your home will be meticulously looked after, and your garden lovingly tended.

We are experienced pet sitters ( having spent many hours rubbing tummy’s and throwing balls) and understand that they each have their own personalities and special needs.

We will exercise your pets as per your requirements, and attend to all their needs. We would also spend most of our time at your home (apart from the odd couple of hours here and there, visiting the local area) and of course,would be home every evening/night.

We would be more than happy to maintain regular contact with you; both before you leave, and while you are away, either by E-mail or by Skype.

It would be our pleasure to look after your home for you, and we would be thrilled if you would consider us.

We could, if you prefer,arrive 2-3 days before you leave, so you can see that your pets would be comfortable with us, while at the same time, providing us with instructions about your home.
