- Mabou, NS B0E, Canada
- House Sitter wanted
- Nov. 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014
- Suitable for families with children
We have just bought this idyllic Bed & Breakfast property and will be moving in during the early spring 2014 to begin preparing for the 2014 holiday season. The house sits on 6 acres of land with a stream running by and a tree-covered ridge to the south and east. A converted barn lies to the south of the main house. Both buildings are heated by forced air oil and wood fired furnaces and are well insulated.
What responsibilities are required of house sitter?
Look after house and barn. We need someone to be there to keep the heating ticking over, to prevent pipes freezing and see to any minor maintenance requirements. Occasional snow clearance will be required for access to the property, the main road near the house is cleared by snowplough. There are no domestic or farm animals to deal with at this time.
Features of the property and location
A historical house built in 1850's used as a B&B during the spring, summer and fall season. The house is located in a rural position about 5 kilometers from Mabou. The house has been renovated to a high standard and has 4 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms in each, a living room, dining room and kitchen in the main house. A renovated barn has a large cathedral ceilinged living and sleeping area with 2 bathrooms, a sauna, and a workshop. A separate studio is located close to the barn.
