What is Search Plus?
Search Plus is a new way to search for sits. Instead of relying only on filters, you can type what you’re looking for in your own words, then get search results showing relevant sits.
Our first version of Search Plus is now available alongside the current search experience on the app for sitters, so you can choose which one you want to use. You can use it to search for your ideal location, pet types, and even what you don't want to include. The best part is, the more you use it, the more we can improve your experience.
Why have we created Search Plus?
We’ve been listening to feedback about the current search experience and how it can sometimes feel frustrating and limiting. We decided to test a new approach that will help us understand better how users search for sits and what matters most to them. This will help us improve and evolve search as we learn more.
How can I find Search Plus?
The new ‘beta’ version of Search Plus is now on the app alongside the current search experience. You can use the current search, or try out Search Plus to see if you like this new approach.
What does the ‘beta’ mean?
The ‘beta’ tag means this is an early version of a feature we want to test with members. It should be fully usable, but it might not always work perfectly all of the time. But the more it’s used, the more we can learn from feedback and improve the experience over time.
What can I search for?
Search Plus feels like a natural way to search. You can write everything you want in one search, including specific things you really want on a sit, or anything you prefer to avoid.
What to include in your search:
- Any locations that interest you, or you want to avoid
- Ideal travel dates and how long you’d like to stay
- Preferred pets, plus ones you want to exclude
- Listings info like step-free access or WiFi
- Apartment or house, and if it’s close to public transport
- Sits that allow you to bring your own pets or have guests
- Local attractions such as a beach, city or countryside

How is this different from the current search?
The current search relies on selecting filters. Search Plus allows members to describe what they want in a single search, and translates that into criteria to find relevant results.
It is designed to feel more natural and flexible, especially when combining multiple preferences.
Why not just add more filters?
Filters are important and we are looking at ways to improve them. At the same time, many needs are difficult to capture in filters alone. Search Plus helps us understand what members are trying to find in a more natural way, so we can improve search overall and prioritize the right improvements.
How is Search Plus powered by AI?
Search Plus uses AI to help interpret what you type so it can show you relevant results. In this first version, it works by translating your search into the filters and information we already have about the listing, to help you find house sits more easily.
In this first version, we’re testing how members actually use it and where it adds value. Your searches help us improve both the results and what the search can support in future.
What if members prefer the current search?
Members can continue using the current search as normal. Search Plus is optional, and you can switch between the two options.
How to give feedback on Search Plus
As this is a Beta, results may not always match perfectly. We appreciate your feedback so we can keep improving the experience.
All feedback is reviewed to understand how the feature is performing and where it needs improvement. While not every suggestion can be implemented, feedback plays a key role in shaping future updates.
The most helpful feedback includes:
- What was searched for
- What was expected
- What results were returned
