So, if you’re holidaying soon and you’re on the lookout for dog-friendly things to do in Mablethorpe, we’ve put together this handy list of attractions, dog-friendly pubs, eateries and more. Walking boots (and picnic forks) at the ready!

Dog-friendly things to do in Mablethorpe

Mablethorpe Beach

Firstly, let’s settle the million dollar question - is Mablethorpe Beach dog-friendly? Drum roll please… yes, Mablethorpe is a dog-friendly beach! In fact, this isn’t just any beach, it’s a Blue Flag Award-winning beach with stretches of golden sands, perfect for frolicking with your new furry friends. The ideal spot for letting off steam with your new doggo pal, grab a takeaway and watch the sun set over England’s east coast. If you’re pet sitting with a friend or partner, turn your hand to watersports while one of you cuddles up on the beach with your fluffy pal - from swimming and sailing, to wind surfing, kayaking and canoeing, Mablethorpe beach is ideal for adrenaline junkies and casual strollers alike. And if adrenaline sports isn’t your thing, find a sandcastle competition to bring out your inner child (or literally your child…) - a fab way to get chatting to Mablethorpe’s locals!

The Natural World Centre, Lincoln

Just an hour away, The Natural World Centre makes for a fab day out if you’re after dog-friendly things to do near Mablethorpe. In the heart of Whisby Nature Park, the Natural World Centre spans six miles of footpaths ideal for easy-going strolling and great views, all looked after by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. And if you’re dog sitting with a partner and children, head to the Little Darter’s Wildlife Adventure while the other strolls with your fluffy pal. Adventure through tunnels, explore towers and pits, dig for fossils and discover the underground cave. Or if you need a spot to keep little ones dry while your pooch pal has a wander, sniff and scamper, head to the Otter’s Reach Indoor Adventure - a great place for children to learn about the park’s history through hands-on activities.

Sutton on Sea beach

If you love holidays in Mablethorpe with dogs and your pooch pal is happiest when shoreside, Sutton on Sea has a few more spots that’ll keep you and your doggo occupied in the sea air. Yet another Blue Flag Award-winning shoreline, Sutton on Sea beach is ideal for fresh air-filled walkies if you’re looking for dog-friendly things to do near Mablethorpe. Just note that there’s a small section around the village with restricted access for dogs between 1st May and 30th September. Other than that, run free with your fluffy pal!

Gibraltar Point national nature reserve, Skegness

Just up the road from Mablethorpe, Gibraltar Point national nature reserve stretches just over four kilometres along Lincolnshire’s coastline. Looked after by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust all year round, let the east coast’s wind lap around your pup’s locks (on the lead) and stop by the visitor centre, cafe or make the most of the reserve’s cycle tracks (pup permitting, of course).

Mablethorpe carnival

Enjoy a free day out at Queen’s Park (although note that the location may change, depending on which year you head down!) and soak up the music, impressive outfits, food and more that this celebration has to offer. Watch from afar to avoid overwhelming your pooch pal with busy crowds and loud noises for a great chance to meet some locals.

Dog-friendly pubs in Mablethorpe

For a warm spot to chat with the locals and bond with your pooch pal, find a dog-friendly pub in Mablethorpe to refuel after beach walkies!

  • The Beck Mablethorpe. Head to the covered decking area for a traditional pub meal with your four-legged friend.
  • The Louth. A well-reviewed, dog-friendly pub in the heart of Mablethorpe.
  • The Mermaid Inn. Get to know the locals with a spot of bingo in this pooch-friendly spot.
