We are a couple in our mid thirties (married for 7 years now and with no kids), who have just quit our jobs to pursue the dream of travelling around the world. We are a couple in our mid thirties (married for 7 years now and with no kids), who have just quit our jobs to pursue the dream of travelling around the world. We have both been working for more than 10 years in my case, and 17 in his, and are tired of following routines and doing things we do not love, just to make ends meet. So we ve decided that we don't want to wait till we are old to live the dream of traveling and seeing the world, life is usually too short anyways, and dreams have to be pursued! But we are more into living like a local than leading a touristic life. We'd been lucky enough to travel our fair share of times in the past and our conclusion is always the same; "I wish I had more time in this place to experience life here". Having said this, I believe this opportunity of house sitting would suit us perfectly to start living our dream.

Why we want to house sit
As I said before, my husband and I are tired of traveling like tourists; always in a hurry, short of time, and visiting places that are super crowded. So we'd like to experience and know places by living like locals do. Apart from that, our initial plan is to take a year off to travel but our budget is rather tight, so this opportunity of saving money while house sitting and taking care of someone else´s pet is excellent for us. Not only because we could save a lot of money on accommodation but also cause we are both animal lovers and will miss our two dogs dearly, so receiving the love from someone else´s pet will surely fill some of the void.
Our experience
We both are animal lovers and dedicated owners, we´ve have had pets (dogs and/or cats) since young age and at the moment own 2 Labrador dogs, a rescued cat and have a fish tank, all of them which we consider as part of our family and are deeply saddened to have to leave behind. But as I said earlier, life's often too short and we've recently have had some unpleasant reminders of that (cancer seems to be very fond of my family members), so with YOLO as our new motto we've decided that the time is now. You Only Live Once, right?
As you can see we're exploring our adventurous side, but our whole lives we have been very responsible and mature, and that won't change. We re healthy, extremely tidy and organized, and will treat any house as our own and take good care of it, especially its pets.

Victoria gave us regular updates while she was staying, looked after Bertie the cat and left the house spotless. What more could we ask for?!

Victoria and Gabriel were terrific. They dealt beautifully with two minor(?) crises while we were away: Nemo who had a minor lesion which he was busy licking and then in the end needed an operation and post operative care. And the pool pump which stopped operating, nearly simultaneously. They we...
Victoria and Gabriel were terrific. They dealt beautifully with two minor(?) crises while we were away: Nemo who had a minor lesion which he was busy licking and then in the end needed an operation and post operative care. And the pool pump which stopped operating, nearly simultaneously. They were in contact with us promptly regarding both incidents, Victoria contacted the vet and acted as go-between making the right decisions all along. Gabriel ran the robot nearly constantly and skimmed the pool and kept it from turning, until we returned nearly one month later. Good communication ( not too much, nor too little) all along, we were never worried. And we have the impression that they absoloutly adored all three of our animals, Nemo has never been so brushed or beautiful in his life and misses them dearly.
