We have previously lived in Sydney for a good few years, travelled around the world for one year straight from June 2015 and now currently live in Wagga Wagga NSW, brought here for Owen’s work as a television cameraman.
We are both polite, mature and respectful people who are known by family and friends for keeping a pretty spick and span house.
We love animals and looking after pets. We don't own any animals yet as we have always rented our home however we're both looking forward to having our own dogs, cats and hopefully even some chickens and sheep when we find that perfect place to settle down.
We are thoughtful, tidy and caring people who love the idea of discovering new places and pets through the experience of house sitting.
Why we want to house sit
We like the idea of gaining genuine local experiences when we either travel for leisure or need to stay away from home. The majority of our stays both in Australia and overseas are in Airbnb accommodation where we feel like we get to live like a local, allowing us an incredible set of travel experiences that we may never have otherwise enjoyed by staying in hotels. The same goes for house sitting, where we hope to discover new places and new communities in a genuine way, while also benefiting financially on longer term stays.
Plus, we'd prefer the comfort of a house or apartment over a hotel any day, who wouldn’t, and of course we're looking forward to meeting some very special pets along the way. In fact, having some animals as company would make the stay more enjoyable for us. We also like the idea that we would be enabling others to travel, since we have a passion for it too, with the piece of mind that their home and pets are in safe hands back home.
We did our first house sit in London in 2016 and had such a great experience that we are looking forward to continuing.
Our experience
So far we have done one house sit through this site, which was looking after two inside cats in a London apartment for three weeks over the Christmas period as the owner Maddalena went overseas. It was Maddalena’s first time using a house sitter, as the cats were both quite shy to strangers so she was unsure if it would work. However it didn’t take long for the two shy cats to come around to us being there without their Mum, and to curl up on our laps of an evening. Upon her return Maddalena found the cats to be very relaxed and the house just as it was when she left. She also found the experience with us to be so positive that she contacted us the following year to see if we happened to be in London to house sit for her again, but unfortunately we were already back in Australia. We were very pleased to hear that she had confidence in us to do the job again, had we been available.
In Mudgee we housesat my grandparent's home for two years after my grandmother passed, during the period which it was on the market for sale. This was on a 25 acre property with cattle, chickens and two energetic labradors who we absolutely fell for. They became our best mates as we took them out with us whenever we could and went for walks with them everyday. Even now we miss them terribly and love getting to see them again in their new home. Also on this property was a very large lawn and gardens that we cared for with regular watering, mowing and weeding. We consider this experience a proper house sit as although it was for family we still had the responsibility of maintaining the property to a high level at which it could be valued and sold as through the two year period that the property was on the market it had regular potential buyers come by.
We have always rented our homes rather than owning and have constantly taken care of each place like it was our own, giving us a perfect rental history and always getting our full bond back.
We have lived at two houses that had swimming pools, currently in one now, so Owen has pool maintenance covered should you have one.
We both enjoy gardening and have kept a vegetable patch wherever we have lived so we can keep your garden and veggies alive while you are away!
We are both young, fit and healthy non-smokers and would look forward to exercising dogs if required.
When travelling we stay almost exclusively in Airbnb accommodation, both with and without a host. We have 100% positive feedback from over 30 stays and have provided the link to our profile page on Airbnb should you wish to read these reviews:

Owen is a bit of a Mr Fix-it. He is a competent handy man and home mechanic. He grew up on a rural property where they had cattle, sheep, horses, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, budgies, cats and dogs. You name it, they had it! He can ride motorbikes, quad bikes and safely drive vehicles to herd animals between paddocks should your property have any. He also has experience with driving a tractor to slash fields.
As for myself, I adore pretty much all animals big or small. On our travels in Greece I spent what Owen considered an unhealthy amount of time with the stray kittens near our apartment, I would have stowed them in my backpack if I could. I grew up with a cat, two Jack Russells and a very friendly house-trained cockatiel.

We had a Skype call, where they kindly offered to come for a visit a couple of days before my travel. In that way I had the chance to meet them in person and I had plenty of time for explaining everything they need to know about the cats and the apartment.
While I was away, they sent me regular updates about the cats.
At my return I found the cats relaxed, the flat clean and the plants watered. Everything was perfect.
I highly recommend them to everyone needing for a house and cat sitting.- Organised

If you're looking for someone that you can trust, and someone that will do the right thing by you, you can definitely rely on Netty to do this. I would unreservedly recommend her to anyone that was looking for someone they could rely on, and believe she would do an exceptional job at whatever it was that you asked her to do.
