Apparently, the alternative to wallowing in a Mid Life Crisis is to take a Mid Life Leap instead... I've just turned 40 (in August) and have realised that I'm looking for more in life than just work so I took a year off to travel through the USA, Europe and Asia before returning to Sydney in December 2017. I'm a responsible and thoughtful non-smoker who keeps things cleans and tidy, and would leave your home just as I found it. Since I was 21, I've travelled through North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and I know what it's like to be away from your pet and home.
Why I want to house sit
I moved to Sydney, Australia from England 12 years ago, living in Rozelle and then Surry Hills. My apartment is currently rented so I’ll take the opportunity to continue to housesit, living in and experiencing new suburbs. I’ve worked as a recruiter for 15 years and do freelance work from home as a cv writer and recruiter, so will be in for most of each day to walk your dog, cuddle your cat/dog and curl up for afternoon naps.
My experience
I grew up with a dog and walked him daily from the age of 10 to 15, before having a cat for 10 years from when I was 20. While living in Sydney, I looked after friends’ cats and dogs for periods of time ranging from long weekends to 7 weeks. Since March 2017, I’ve done 5 housesits in the US, 13 in London, 1 in KL and 9 in Sydney, ranging from 1 night to 18, with 4 of these being repeat bookings. I’ve looked after kittens to elderly dogs, administering pills and eye drops, and feeding dry, wet or raw food. I’ve won over shy cats and nervous dogs, and the largest pet I’ve looked after was a 45kg Newfoundland dog. My philosophy with animals is to let them come to you on their terms, when they're ready and once you've earned their trust rather than trying to force a friendship. Dogs are relatively easy – if you feed and walk them, chances are you'll have found a friend, but cats are more independent and it's on their terms – you often have to work harder to win them over!

Wow what a find.......Karrie was a breath of fresh air; passionate about her role as a housesitter; diligent in every aspect of caring for my moggy and home and left everything clean AND wine in the fridge....what more could you ask for!

If you are so lucky to have Kerri accept a dog watching sit for you....stop looking...you have found your perfect person. She came in the day before so I was lucky enough to spend the day before our departure with her and show her our routine....by the time I left I felt I wanted to stay and let...
If you are so lucky to have Kerri accept a dog watching sit for you....stop looking...you have found your perfect person. She came in the day before so I was lucky enough to spend the day before our departure with her and show her our routine....by the time I left I felt I wanted to stay and let the dog's go. She is a breath of fresh air and the dog's and my family fell in love with her instantly. When we left I knew they were in the best hands ever...and I was correct. She took them to the beach and was an instant hit will all our doggie friends and owners. We were not gone long, but she sent photos and updates . Upon arriving home it was obvious my dog's were well taken care of and in excellent care.....for once I did not feel guilt. Kerri came a long way to take this job so she could experience Charleston so we asked her to stay a few extra day's so she could do all there is to offer in a short time....she not only was a perfect house guest but became an instant friend. She continued to help around the house and it felt like my little sister was visiting...so comfortable. The dog's were so happy she was staying and I felt guilty when she had to leave....We are in hopes on her next trip to the USA she will come visit as a friend and maybe take advantage of her once again and take off for a trip knowing the dog's will actually pack for us:)

I highly recommend Karrie. Karrie provided excellent care for our cats and left our home in perfect condition. Karrie is also very friendly and easy to communicate with.
