I love to keep fit and lead a healthy lifestyle and I meditate regularly. When I had my last dog, a kelpie, I faithfully walked her every day rain or shine and twice a day on weekends. (Kelpies love to run so I would take her to the local lead free dog beach and she would run for miles.) While I enjoy cities I love small towns where I can get to know the local area really well and enjoy all the community has to offer. Walks in parks, along the beach and strolling down a main street interest me. I am a prolific reader and love a good movie. I certainly appreciate the good things in life - good food, coffee, a glass of wine or a whisky, art, music etc. Travel is my great love, after my family, and my friends are really important to me. ( I struggled to find photos as I am usually behind the camera taking other people's photos.) By the way, I am a qualified Justice of the Peace in Queensland, so you can be assured I am an honest person.
Why I want to house sit
I don't have a pet currently as I live in an apartment where pets are not allowed and as I am not home a lot this is the best option for me at the moment. One day I will buy a small house again where I can have a pet. At the moment, I just got my pet time with friends' and family 's 4 legged household members. Also, I love to travel and see the world and I have travelled more than the average person. The one thing that has frustrated me in the past is that I have never had the time to just get to know an area really well. I want to be able to find the best local coffee shop, be known by the staff at the local stores, find a favourite pub for a meal, go to local art galleries or museums and have the time to explore a small area. I want to be able to travel slowly and live as much like a local as I can. While I am not a "party animal" I do enjoy people and being able to help them so by house sitting I can assist others while having a fabulous time myself.
My experience
I have owned many properties in my lifetime and in my last job was the general manager of a not for profit housing company so I also have professional experience on looking after properties. I have had many pets, mainly dogs but some cats, birds and fish as well as having chickens and cows when living on a small farm. Over the years I have completed some house sitting in Australia for friends or friends of friends. I now live in an apartment having sold my last house that had a large garden so that I can now lock up and leave to travel. I enjoy the opportunity to assist with someone else's garden although I suspect gardening is a bit different in Europe than it is here in tropical north Queensland. As I don't have any pets in the apartment, I enjoy time with friends and their animals and my grandchildren have a much adored beagle that I enjoy washing, brushing and walking.

Marg was a complete pleasure to have in our home. Unflappable and very organised. She coped really well with the rather unexpected builders and most importantly made sure Buie our elderly dog was very well cared for. Lots of contact with photos throughout our holiday. We highly recommend her ...

This women is a god send. The cats took to her straight away and where still very happy cats when I returned. I wasn't lucky enough to welcome Marg but my mate who did said the nicest things about her. Emails/messages and picture from start to finish l. I couldn't have asked for a nicer person. ...

Highly recommended if you can be lucky enough to have this lady stay.

Margaret was fantastic. Abby me needy rescue dog was very happy on my return and the house was spotless. Would not hesitate to ask Margaret to house sit again.
