About Rick & ingrid & Ingrid
We are young at heart, in mind and spirit. Much of our adult life has been looking after our gorgeous children. They both are now finding their way and we feel we have a window of opportunity (before grandkids) to travel and see firstly more of Australia and New Zealand. Then if we are lucky enough further afield.

Why we want to house sit
When our daughters travelled (yes they have done way more than us) we explained it was way better to get to know the locals as you would learn more of the culture and heritage and more importantly the heart of the community from them. So now it is our turn to live like a local and petsitting gives us this opportunity and the biggest bonus is, we are looked after by loving pets who accept us into their home and shower us with affection.
My passion is photography so travelling to new cities or towns would be 'heaven on a stick' for me. I also enjoy photographing the kitties and puppies as we spend time together whether it be on my lap; as I potter in the garden, playing games or when we go for a walk.
Travelling, learning, meeting lovely pets and their owners, taking photos, trying new foods - why isn't everyone doing it?
Our experience
We built and have lived in the same home for 31 years. It is not just a house but a place we have brought up our children and fur babies, it has many wonderful memories and we understand the importance of looking after someone-else's home too.
I also love to garden, so that would be something I would enjoy looking after as well as photographing. Nature, trees, plants and flowers are just part of me, I enjoy their colours, textures and scents, spending time outside is where I am happiest.
My husband loves to cook so the BBQ and kitchen will get a work out. We have both been Rotarians so realise the importance of people in the local community and hopefully we may also be able to help with a project within the local Club. We are both into getting fit with Rick trimming down quite a bit and mine is taking a little longer to move but we love to walk and hike, so if your dogs are up to it, we would love to take them walking regularly.
Our beautiful cat "Sweetie", who was 17 is no longer with us so we know how precious older furry family members are. It has given us the opportunity to travel more and our daughter is now back home with her two kittens to fill the void he left behind. My husband's family had a registered kennel so he is au fait with dogs and I also had the most gorgeous deaf bull terrier when I was growing up. My family had racing pigeons throughout my teenage years, so we are happy to look after birds as well.

True to their other reviews here, Rick and Ingrid were fantastic guests and pet-sitters. They took very good care of not just the kitties, but also our home. They planned their visit so that we had time to get to know each other and introduce them to the kitties and the apartment before we left, ensuring that there were no loose ends. During their stay, they provided updates just often enough to keep me from wondering how things were going, and upon our return, they were there to greet us and let us know how things went.

Wow! Rick and Ingrid were so lovely!! We couldn‘t have had better sitters!! They cared for our cat Sissy and our Clydesdale-Horse Mary Poppins. Everything was done perfectly and everything was left tidy.
