I am a newly retired, non-smoking active person, ready to see what's next in life's journey. House sitting sounds like a brilliant concept, and I would like to be a part of it. I live on the Gold Coast in a sea - side village in a family home with Lily my cat and a garden, now that my children have grown and gone. I am well traveled and am keen to continue. I love the idea of house sitting, and being a local rather than staying in hotels as a tourist.That's me on the left, with family in the glorious Cinque Terra.
Why I want to house sit
Well, initially I would like to explore the adventure of caring for someone else's home and beloved animals. That sounds like a great way to feel connected and nurturing, at the same time as holidaying in a affordable and safe manner, with the comfort of animals at your feet.
My experience
Above all else, it is a privilege to be accepted into someone's home, amid their precious things, caring for the family's animals.It is humbling to be trusted in this way, and I would be honoured to take on this responsibility. I am a house owner too and will respect your place, as my own . The fun I get from my garden, the hours spent in its creation, would naturally flow into my care of yours.Just a little water is such a simple thing to get right. I also promise to be a gentle companion to your pet until your return . My adult career as a Nurse Manager / Educator / Researcher has equipped me with lots a problem solving skills. Newly retired, I remain energetic/ interested and optimistic in life.I may be new to house sitting, but I am an honorable person, have a Police check available and I think capable of doing this well .

Susan was absolutly fabulous. We knew from the moment we met Susan that our trip would be stress free!! She looked after our cat Diesel like her own. Susan kept us updated on how things were going which was very appreciated. Susan is the perfect house sitter,I highly recommend Susan!!!

Sue did a wonderful job looking after Milo and Tiaro. She negotiated the surprise breakdown with the central heating (which would have been very chilly for a few days)..and kept us constantly updated.
We arrived home to staples in the fridge, a spotless house and 2 happy cats! Sue is welcome back...Sue did a wonderful job looking after Milo and Tiaro. She negotiated the surprise breakdown with the central heating (which would have been very chilly for a few days)..and kept us constantly updated.

Sue was a really warm & considerate house sitter- we're so glad she could mind our house for 4 weeks!
A few qualities we really appreciated:
- open communication throughout the whole process (with email updates for us each week)
- respect & care for our home & space (everything clean & just...Sue was a really warm & considerate house sitter- we're so glad she could mind our house for 4 weeks!

- respect & care for our home & space (everything clean & just how we left it, also no use of electrical items or entry into rooms which we said we're not to be accessed)
- trustworthy (i ran out of time to put expensive jewelery items away & everything was protected in our absence)
- little acts of kindness scattered around the house on our return (flowers, baked goods, clean linen & beds made)
- care for our other 2 family members/cats (they both were very relaxed & content when we arrived home).
We'd love to have Sue back & have no hesitation in recommending her to other people looking for a warm & thoughtful house sitter.

We met Susan as her house and pet sitters looking after her lovely house and adorable cat Lily for over 3 weeks. Susan is a very reliable person, full of love and compassion to other people and animals. Her house and the garden were spotless and perfectly prepared for the assignment when we arriv...
We met Susan as her house and pet sitters looking after her lovely house and adorable cat Lily for over 3 weeks. Susan is a very reliable person, full of love and compassion to other people and animals. Her house and the garden were spotless and perfectly prepared for the assignment when we arrived. Our son got his own bedroom with lots of space for his Lego blocks. Susan stocked more than enough cat food for Lily leaving all emergency contacts to the nearest vet and hospital as well as her family members nearby. She even stocked her fridge for us too! She stayed in touch with us throughout the entire sit phoning us once a week to find out about the cat and the house and whether we needed anything.
In general our experience with Susan was very positive, and we would definitely love to have her as our house/pet sitter in the future!- Organised
