Hi, we are looking to house sit and experience the lifestyle of locals throughout Europe. We are both working professionals looking to step away from work for a year, I am an Audiologist and Hamish is a Geologist.
We love all animals, especially dogs & farm animals. We have experience with cats, rabbits and chickens too. We are both keen cyclists (I am racing the UCI World Championship in Italy September 2018), and enjoy outdoor activities. We both enjoy gardening especially veggies and herbs. We are both non-smokers. Reliable and positive people.
We have speak a small amount of Italian and limited French but are comfortable communicating with people with a language barrier and have traveled to Europe before.
Why we want to house sit
To experience a local lifestyle. Ideally we are open to house sitting for extended stay, 3-4 weeks or more. This way we can settle in and get to know the area, animals and neighbourhood. We are flexible with times.
Our experience
We have house sat large places such as one with 5 bedrooms, 6 chickens (feeding, herding and gathering eggs), 2 cats, 2 crabs, 1 dog and places smaller with 1 cat. Hamish has also house sat for a place with 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks and is comfortable with large dogs / animals. We have house sat for periods of 3 weeks up to 5 weeks.

Hamish and his wife, Kat, have been such a big help looking after our lovable, goofball of a golden retriever whilst my partner and I travel for work. They ensure Jan receives walks twice per day, and even spend time playing with her in the mornings and evenings when she is most active. Our house is always tidy and cleaner than we left it when we come home. Hamish and Kat are extremely reliable, dependable, responsible and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend Hamish and Kat for all house and pet-sitting needs.
