Hello! My name is Juraj and I come from Slovakia. I studied and worked in Czech republic as a pharmacist. I also love pets and animals (but that is not a surprise :-D)

Hello! My name is Juraj and I come from Slovakia. I studied and worked in Czech republic as a pharmacist. I also love pets and animals (but that is not a surprise :-D)
When I was much younger, I would spend days in the countryside where we have our cabin with neighbours' cattle, dogs, cats, sheep, pigs, poultry and many other animals... I loved it so much I wanted to have my own farm. But then I got into the big city and choose a little bit different path.
I felt "saturated" with Prague after 5 years and applied for a working holiday permit in Canada. That also means I am checked and double checked by the government and I wouldn't do anything to loose my status.
So that is basically all I am doing right now. Trying to survive in Canada. I left my job and got rid of my car. Holiday is going great but the "work" part is not that bright as I would imagine since I am not allowed to practice my profession here.
Few things I like:
1. foreign languages. Slovak and Czech are my native languages. I am fluent in English and French. I started with Russian a while ago, but I am still a beginner.
2. sports: non-contact sports like volleyball, swimming and badminton. My whole family is addicted to ice hockey (my brother currently plays in Detroit for Little Ceasars hockey club).. "Go, wings!"
3. road trips and backpacking. Who doesn't like traveling? So far I've been to most of the Central, Western and Eastern Europe. My favourite destination is Sri Lanka and my plan is to travel through Russia by train.
I am glad if you like my profile, I am looking forward to meeting you in person soon!
Why I want to house sit
When I discovered this site I was amazed instantly and signed in right away. It is a great opportunity to get in touch with locals while traveling, do some good while taking care of animals and houses and keeping the budget low.
My experience
I am new to this. Its time to get started.
I am a very responsible and serious person. Working as a supervising pharmacist is not easy. It requires multi-tasking, constant trouble solving with costumers and assuring the workplace is safe, clean and comfortable.
To be honest, I only have one experience as a pet and housesitter. My friends in Prague have a cat and when they travel they would ask me to feed her, do some cleaning and play with her while also keeping an eye on the property.
(UPDATE: Since February I have been helping at a farm near Peterborough, its a real challenge since the weather this year in Ontario is really cold. Me and the others are taking care of about 100 sheep, 3 dogs, 1 cat, chickens and about 30 pigs. So far, it has been an amazing experience)

Very pleased with Juraj. All the animals were happy when we got home, and the house was fine. Not an easy task with so much snow this winter, so the weather was awful for him.
Would highly recommend Juraj for House & Pet sitting.Very pleased with Juraj. All the animals were happy when we got home, and the house was fine. Not an easy task with so much snow this winter, so the weather was awful for him.

Juraj took care of my flat in Prague, Czech Republic, and my cat Meda for a few times. Usually for a week or two when I was on a business trip, holiday, etc. He was friendly, reliable. There were never any issues. During my travels, he kept me informed about the cat and stuff. When I returned everything was organised and clean and Meda was happy as when I left. I would recommend Juraj to you, too.
