I am an active, healthy, financially secure, 60 year old, non-smoking, retired nurse and semi-retired business owner, mother and grandmother. I am happy traveling on my own but often travel with my female partner of 18 years or my sister from Vancouver, BC, Canada. My partner works as Behavioural Theraputic Assistant. She holds a Socialwork diploma as well as a degree in Human Services Administration. My sister is a physician who is presently working as an open heart surgical assistant as she winds down her career in Vancouver, BC.I enjoy a quiet lifestyle. I prefer music and reading to television. I love to immerse myself in nature, local entertainment and culture, but also enjoy settling in for enjoyable days at home. I have been a homeowner for 40 years. Our home is full of healthy house planets and gardens surround both our house and cabin. Early to bed and early to rise. I have a passion for learning new skills and have recently mastered (well almost) the skill of moulded chocolates.
Why I want to house sit
Housesitting has always interested me. I prefer the more personal side to travel than a hotel can offer me. I am happy in small homes, cottages, houseboats, large homes, apartments or condos, out of town or right in the centre of a City. A home with pets offers me the comforts of home while experiencing the newness of traveling to new locations. Having the benefit of pets during my travels creates the perfect balance whether I’m traveling solo or with another person.I love animals and would certainly snuggle, exercise and care for your animals just as you would. I take all of my commitments very seriously and would not enter into an agreement that I cannot keep.Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. My experience
I have cared for pets of friends and family many, many times over the years, as well as my numerous Trusted House sitter assignments. My Trusted House Sitter sits have taken me from a 6,000 sq ft house with an infinity pool and hot tub in Scottsdale to a cozy and welcoming 600 sq ft apartment condo in San Francisco. I am very comfort with most animals large or small. Your pets will be well cared for, watched over and loved just as your house will be. I have owned pets for over 40 years. At present I have 2 little Maltese/ Shih Tzu ladies (one is a Tri-pawed). I have raised litters of rough collies, Shih tzu/Maltese puppies: what a joy to watch those little ones as they grew. I also have owned 2 majestic, American Eskimos, 2 Lassie dogs so I am comfortable with both large and small dogs. I have been blessed to have 3 dogs live to the age of 16. Though their senior years came with challenges, we met them graciously together. I have also shared my life with the joy and company of loving cats, each with their own personality and set of needs. I have owned an African grey parrot, a cockatiel, 2 lovebirds (not sure they even liked each other, they argued all time, lol), large fresh water fish aquariums and a beautiful outdoor koi pond.I believe in gentle, positive praise and consistent handling when dealing with any animals. I am able to recognize anxiety in animals and offer them quiet comfort and confidence.

We just had our first experience in trustedhousitters hosting Marie Lou at home petsitting our two small dogs and it has been absolutely perfect.
We had an Skype conversation with her and she was super nice, organized and clear about times and dates. We met the night before the sitting to give he...We just had our first experience in trustedhousitters hosting Marie Lou at home petsitting our two small dogs and it has been absolutely perfect.
We had an Skype conversation with her and she was super nice, organized and clear about times and dates. We met the night before the sitting to give her a copy of the keys and to show her the house and, we felt absolutely connected with her from the beginning. It was really nice talking with her.
During her sitting, she sent us pictures of the dogs every day, they looked sooo happy with her. And, when we came back home, we found the house spotless, we had no words, she took care of the bed linen, towels, etc. Everything was extremely clean and so tidy, we were amazed.
Apart from that, she left a few nice gifts for us, some chocolates and also she printed two nice portraits of our dogs and put them in two frames. We were so happy when we came from our trip and we saw it.
We feel that we found a new friend and, we would love that she come back in the future to our place, the dogs loved her and we couldn't be more lucky finding her.
Choose Mary Lou as a pet sitter if you are lucky and have this opportinity, she is just the best!- Organised

Mary Lou was the perfect house/pet sitter. Bowzer loved her. Mary Lou sent me pictures of him snuggling on the sofa with her and she even let him sleep with her (his favourite) :). When Mary Lou brought back the key today, Bowzer was soooo happy to see her again.

Mary Lou is very professional and well versed in the operations of a home. She is a contractor and wanted to know/see where my electrical panel was as well as the furnace/hot water system. Mary Lou was very sure to make sure that I returned home before she returned the house key - in any event that she needed to return to take care of Bowzer.
Mary is very kind and considerate. On top of the cute pictures and texts re Bowzer that she sent me while I was away, I returned home to the most generous and sweet welcome home present. Awaiting me was a framed picture of Bowzer with a note from him, a sweet home made card and the 'piece de resistance' a box of Mary Lou's homemade chocolates.
I would highly recommend Mary Lou to look after your house and pet. I will definitely be looking to have her back.- Organised

Finding Mary Lou for a housesit was like finding a treasure chest full o' wonderful things (chocolates, even! ^.^)!! She shared complete ease with care of our two kitties, home, and birds, giving medicine, attention, and much love. Mary Lou has an energy that immediately dispelled my worry and concern and instead built an assurance of focus and commitment. She is absolutely hilarious from a human perspective, and was able to bring out perfect goofiness in one of the kitties, too! We were truly gifted to have Mary Lou as our sitter and hope for more in the future. Thank you So Much!!
