Hello, I've have been retired from my job for 10 years now and have a very active life. I like to swim every day and am involved in canoeing and Dragon Boating. I cycle and like to have a round of golf as often as I can. When the weather is bad I like to do art work and a bit of sewing and play around with my musical instruments and once or twice a week have a game of snooker with the league I belong to. I like to get out and socialize with my friends and walk the dogs everyday.
Why I want to house sit
The reason I want to do house sitting is because for the past year I have started to do a bit of travel and I miss my furry friends and some of the comforts of home. I also would like to really experience what it is like to do everyday things and have furry friends around me and enjoying a get away all at the same time.
My experience
I have a home on an acre with large gardens and 2 dogs . The experience I have with animals and feathered friends are mostly of my own pets over the years. I have never been without a dog in my life and have had a few felines over the years. They have all lived well into their old age in good health and very happy. I have also taken in other pets into my home to be looked after while owner is out of town for long periods of time. I have a love for all animals and find them all fascinating creatures.
My experiences with house minding comes from when I use to babysit in the home of the children I looked after and made sure that the house was always clean and dishes done for when the parents got home. And also I have looked after neighbors houses while they are away on vacation and collected their mail and newspapers everyday and stayed in their homes during their absent.
As far as looking after a yard I have plenty of experience with that. I cut grass, have veggie gardens and do a lot of pruning of fruit trees and flowering shrubs. I also keep a very clean house for myself and spouse and our dogs. Thank you for taking the time to read about me.

I just rated Wendy and had no problem giving her the highest ratings possible. As far as I'm concerned, Wendy is a gem for all the reasons rated but also because our dog, Piper, loved her. For me, that kind of says it all but it helped that, in addition to coming over prior to the dog-sitting date to meet Piper and us and talk about Piper's care (we live in the same small city), Wendy was attentive and reliable in terms of Piper's special medical needs (anti-anxiety pills) and, knowing that Piper has some separation anxiety issues, ensured that Piper wasn't left alone. Wendy has two smallish dogs herself so we agreed that, after the first night in our home, Wendy would introduce Piper to her dogs and, if they got along, Piper could stay with them for the short time we were away. It worked very well and I'd be happy to do this again. I'd definitely recommend Wendy Bessey as a dog and house sitter!

Wendy has asked me to provide a letter of reference for the house sit she did in our home.
To that end I would like to very highly recommend Wendy. She looked after our home and most importantly our Kerry Blue Terrier, for about four weeks while we were on vacation.

Prior to our decision to have Wendy do our house sit, she was able to come for a visit in order to meet us and get to know Kyna. We were very comfortable with Wendy at our first meeting and knew that Kyna would be in good hands and our home would be well looked after.
In addition to taking great care of Kyna and looking after our home Wendy went the extra step and sent us regular updates on how they were doing. These updates included pictures of our happy girl playing in the snow.

Wendy has done house and pet sitting for me a number of times in the last year when I go on vacation. She is very punctual , reliable and has shown to be a very honest and trustworthy person to have looking after your home and your beloved fur babies.

We recently traveled across Canada and were gone for two months, from the end of May to the end of July. We arranged to have Wendy stay in our home for the duration of our trip to take care of our house, yard and gardens and 2 pets(a dog and a cat). We met with Wendy before our trip and received information about expectations of us as the homeowners and about her as the sitter. We met a second time to give Wendy a detailed outline of what we would need her to do for the pets and around the yard.
While we were gone, we received frequent email updates, complete with photos, of how things were going for her. We returned to an impeccable home,yard and very happy pets!
We were very pleased to have Wendy in our home while we were away. She provided us with peace-of-mind, knowing that our home and our dear pets were in very capable hands. We would recommend that you seriously consider Wendy as your trusted house sitter!- Organised
