Kathleen & Marilyn

Kathleen & Marilyn
Retired sisters prefer to live like locals when on the road. Love having the energy & companionship of pets around :)
About Kathleen & Marilyn
Marilyn is a retired Engineering Tech & Kathleen a retired teacher. We gave up homeownership on retirement and moved to rental accommodations, hoping to become the 'Travelling Gypsy Sisters'!
We became 'snowbirds' for a few winters, driving our RV (with cats) to warmer climes.

Why we want to house sit
We now have the opportunity to expand our travels and visiting new places from a local perspective is much more appealing to our views on why we like to travel. Having the chance to check out new neighbourhoods we may have never been exposed to otherwise -- walking the dog, gardening, frequenting local businesses -- while giving others the chance to leave their treasured pet/house in the care of two reliable sisters.
Our experience
We were both homeowners with pets during our working life so we understand the importance of having someone reliable to care for these most important treasures. Both of us have always been a 'go-to' person when friends, & others, needed pet care or house checks.
During her time at University in Vancouver, BC, Kathleen and a friend started a house/pet-sitting service. For two of these years, she lived as a housesitter full-time. It was a great experience with exposure to many awesome pets.
Neither sister can remember a time in their lives when there wasn't a pet around -- dogs, cats, and even the family horse in our early years!

I have known Kathleen since 1984. At the time I was one of two SPCA Inspectors for the region north of Squamish and founders of WAG. Whistler Animals Galore. Due to health issues I've been unable to perform regular maintenance required in home ownership. Kathleen has been a major factor allowing me to live independently.
I trust her completely to be responsible in all aspects of my life, my home, and any animal I have had in my possession.
If she is available, you will be fortunate to have her care for your home and beings.- Organised
