I have lived and worked in three countries and traveled to 107 countries in total. I am retired now, but worked as a teacher and will continue to teach online. I really enjoy taking care of pets and fixing things around the house. I speak English and Spanish and have gotten along in French, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, Hindi, Sinhalese, and Bahasa Malaysian. I often communicate with friends around the world using Skype and would use this to stay updated with house owners when they are away. Lastly, I am neat and tidy and take pride in leaving a house cleaner than when I arrived.
Why I want to house sit
Since I am retired as a teacher on Social Security, I do not have a great deal of income, so I need to live fairly frugally. I am a descendant of the explorer Jedediah Smith, I enjoy learning from other cultures. I also have a years of experience as a volunteer and want to continue this by helping people leave their homes in capable and trustworthy hands . . . mine. In this way, homeowners can leave on vacation knowing that their homes are safe and secure without worrying about their belongings and family members (pets) who did not join them on their sojourn.
My experience
I grew up on farms and learned to care for many pets.
I used to train and show dogs and have had large and small dogs and cats.
I do not want to harm any animals, which is why I am vegetarian.
I have owned and maintained several homes and can do most repairs.

Thank you Chris!
Was so nice not to have to worry about my pets and house for a week of R&R with family and friends.
The house was left in wonderful condition which was much appreciated and Dudley and Esmay were very happy and relaxed.

Chris is the most well traveled person that I know. He is respectful and resourceful as a guest. His high level of maturity and integrity make him a good candidate for house sitting.
He was an excellent dog trainer as a pet owner. Chris is loving and affectionate with the animals of others. Hou...Chris is the most well traveled person that I know. He is respectful and resourceful as a guest. His high level of maturity and integrity make him a good candidate for house sitting.
