Why I want to house sit
I always found hotels pretty impersonal and will be more happy enjoying a private home while making it welcoming and inviting when you return home. This is also a much more interesting way to meet new people.
My experience
Since I have had my own home in the Caribbean until 2017, I have not house-sat for others since 2002 in the Cayman Islands, but I obviously know the culture and do's and don'ts' very well and I think it is a win-win for all partners.
