I am a proud Scot currently living and loving retirement life in France. I am an experienced University Administrator, non-smoking female who loves travelling and all animals. I have travelled extensively throughout my life having lived in the USA, UK and Saudi Arabia with my cats travelling with me.
During the time I lived in the UK I was also actively involved as a Marine Mammal Medic with British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) - a charity which involves the rescue of stranded cetaceans and seal rescue.
Why I want to house sit
I have had cats for most of my life but just recently said goodbye to my 2 beloved cats - Koschka in 2016 aged 16+ years and more recently my beloved Moasi who lived to 2 months short of her 19th birthday. Although I am not ready to replace them I do miss feline (and canine) company. Because of their age I put all thoughts of travel and housesitting out of mind until they were no longer with me. So, now I have lots of love to bestow upon furry friends and also experience new travel opportunities.
My experience
I have looked after many friends’ and families’ dogs and cats sometimes in my own home, sometimes in their home. I completely understand an owner’s need for reassurance of their pets’ welfare especially when they are travelling and leaving their beloved ‘fur babies’ with others so please be assured that your pets’ welfare and the security of your home and belongings would be my #1 priority.

It is without hesitation that I highly recommend Sue for any housesitting or petsitting job. She is hands down the most organized and thorough person I know. We worked together in a start up situation. She was fantastic at handling difficult situations and solving problems. Her communications skills are excellent, and she can research just about anything.
She came to my dog's rescue twice while I was on different vacations. I hired other people to dog-sit for me since my dog was not good with cats, which Sue had two. One time I was away, my dog had a hematoma on his ear. The person who was watching Pepper contacted Sue. Sue communicated with me daily with photos. She took my dog, by taxi, 90 minutes away to the nearest vet. She went to the vet two more times, so Pepper could have surgery, and covered all expenses until I got home. As worried as I was about my dog, I knew he was in good hands with Sue.
Another time I was away, I felt as if my hired help wasn't doing a good job with Pepper, so I asked Sue to check out the situation. Sure enough, the dog-sitter wasn't doing the job, so Sue took in my Pepper and created spaces in her house for all the animals to spend two weeks together. I was amazed how well my dog behaved around her cats after that.
The directions here say not to leave contact information; however, I would be happy to have a conversation, if someone wanted. Sue knows my contact information, of course.- Organised
