I am an American who has been living abroad for 11 years in Europe, Asia and South America. Prior to starting my animal rescue and farm sanctuary in Vietnam, I was an English teacher in Poland and Mongolia, worked in humanitarian aid in Kosovo, and rode horses and managed high-level stables in Virginia. I started the only nonprofit vet clinic, mobile sterilization clinic, community sterilization program, and animal rights education program in Vietnam. I have traveled all over the world and easily adapt to new cities and cultures.
Why I want to house sit
I have some freedom now to travel between Vietnam half the year and Europe for the other half, and I would like to be able to help out people who need an experienced animal caretaker who would like to go on holidays without worrying about their home and furry family.
My experience
Aside from house and farm sitting since I could drive in the US, I have been working with horses and animal rescues since then as well. I had my own horse for 18 years in addition to managing stables before starting my own animal rescue and farm sanctuary in Vietnam. Since I also lived in my own vet clinic for 3 years, I have a lot of hands on experience with medical emergencies, triage and medications including IV meds. I have a Master's degree in Emergency and Disaster Management with a specialization in animals in disaster, so I am pretty solid in crises. I have a driver's license but am generally chained to my job online when out of Vietnam so am happy to stay at home and care for the animals. My experience with domestic animals, farm animals, and exotics along with my ability to live comfortably around the world makes me a great candidate for house sitting. I have no criminal record in any country and am extremely responsible and healthy.

This is the first time we have used Trusted House Sitters and we couldn't have asked for a better person to take care of our well-trained but on occasion rather demanding Italian Mastiff (Cane Corso) Mylo, when we were travelling India for five weeks. Cat had the experience, enthusiasm, patience, know-how and love for animals to be able to take this role on.
Mylo is a large breed and requires a lot of love, care and attention as well as a strong hand. Cat was a natural, quickly built rapport with Mylo and her presence immediately reassured us that we were leaving our beloved pet in the best hands possible.
Mylo goes to work with us every day and has very little alone time, and we were really pleased that Cat was able to help him follow his usual routine. Our house was also left in an impeccable condition.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cat, she is confident, practical and animals love her!- Organised
