We're a quiet couple in our mid-30s who loves all living creatures, diving into different cultures, history, art, having a good chat and staying fit. We're both German residents, Gunnar is German-Icelandic and I'm Polish. We speak fluent English, German, Italian, Icelandic and Polish. Additionally, Gunnar's French and Greek are conversational.
We are vegan but we're fine feeding animals with what you usually give to them.
Gunnar specialises in classical archaeology, mainly on emperor Augustus' travels. He's lived in different countries all over the world since he was born and has a lot of stories to tell (though he doesn't talk much :)) Just like me, he enjoys cosy time at home, long walks in nature and urban sightseeing. He also loves reading, good stand-up comedies and doing yoga.
I do photography of different sorts (fine art, branding, portraiture). I also help brands create their image on social media through words, photo and video (marketing content creation and branding strategy). Most of my work, just like Gunnar's, happens online - that's why our only must is a good wi-fi (good enough for a Skype call).
Why we want to house sit
We love the idea of being able to give back for trusting us with your furry family members and your home. We are grateful for the opportunity to cuddle and look after animals, since our lifestyle doesn't let us have our own pets. Additionally, we also think house-sitting is a wonderful opportunity to experience local life. Also, I always look out for new inspirations for my photography, and spending at least a few weeks in one place serves me best.
Our experience
We've just joined Trustedhousesitters but have had pet sits via Mind My House (our profile https://www.mindmyhouse.com/owners/sitter_listing/40639) and we've also gathered positive reviews as guests and hosts via AirBnB in terms of both long- and short-term stays, (our AirBnB profile: https://de.airbnb.com/users/show/19028308.)
We used to have our own furry families (all rescues), and we've also rescued a few animals. Our last rescued friend from Greece, a little fluffy gentleman called Snowy, has recently found his home in Germany.
Also, as a child and teenager, I subsequently shared my room with guinea pigs, hamsters, rats and parrots, and Gunnar catered for a large turtle that moved into his family's garden when they lived in Greece.
We'll love, feed and cuddle your fluffy friends and take care of your premises, respect all the rules and do all the chores we commit to. We also have experience at doing simple repairs around the house.

Marta and Gunner were our first ever sitters and we can honestly say they met all our expectations and more. They are a lovely couple and as soon as we met them we felt comfortable with them. The girls ( our two Labs) were well looked after, walked, entertained and very happy. Gunner made us a lovely meal on our return and Marta made us a cake that was to die for. The house was just as we left it clean and tidy. We would recommend them to anyone and would be happy for them to sit for us at some time in the future.
Most important thing is the girls , our dogs, were obviously well cared for and loved, you could see that from the way they behaved towards Gunner and Marta when we returned.- Organised

Marta and Gunnar took care of our two large and exuberant dogs and of the cat for a month, during the Christmas period. They are well organized and efficient, very affectionate with our animals. Marta and Gunnar took care of our two large and exuberant dogs and of the cat for a month, during the Christmas period. They are well organized and efficient, very affectionate with our animals. They managed perfectly our home and the garden, watered the plants and regularly administered the medication of our boxer dog. We were pleasantly surprised by the homemade (vegan) Sushi they had prepared for us at our arrival. They kept in touch throughout the period by sending us photos and updates every day. We are pleased to have had them as our sitters and we certainly recommend them, they are very kind people and we have a high esteem for them. Marta is an exceptional photographer, and her portraits of our pets are very dear to me.
