Hi! We're Alicia and Janet, Malaysians living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
We started sitting locally to build a profile and to explore if it's something we like. We loved our sits so much so that we will continue doing sits locally (resits if you like us) in KL. Whether is a night and a month, we will treat your home and pets like they are our own.
These are our ideal sits:
- Short or long sits (prefer long) anywhere in Klang Valley. TV availabilty is a must as Janet spends most time at home and it keeps her occupied. A temporary car parking is a must especially at condos and apartments.
- Up to 2 weeks anywhere in Malaysia.
- Up to 2 weeks in Chiang Mai, Hanoi, Hoi An, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan.
- Up to 2 weeks in Sydney.
Janet is a snoring "champion" so where possible if you can provide two rooms so that Alicia can get some sleep.
Alicia is a car owner back in Malaysia and have a driving license for more than 20 years. If a car is provided for the sit, that will be a bonus especially if sit is located in the countryside. If not, your home should be accessible to public transportation.
We have sat 12 times for eight cats and six dogs for expats from France, UK, USA and Australia. We completed sitting two cats abroad in Gold Coast, Australia. We will have another 2 resits in KL and 1 in Penang in 2018. 2 sits in 2019.
I grew up with dogs and owned 3 rescue dogs at different stages in my life and know what attention is required. I am very active and outdoor person, yoga 2 times a week, participating in half marathons once a year, so walking the dog won't wear me down. My mum is always spotted wearing sports shoes.
We love travelling and have rave reviews from my AirBnB hosts keeping their house clean and tidy.
As proud homeowners ourselves we are used to looking after a property and dealing with any issues. We are happy to maintain regular contact either by email or WhatApp while you are away. If you have any queries regarding our suitability please feel free to ask. Just enjoy your holiday while we enjoy the company of your loved ones.
Our feedback on the pets we sat are as important as the owner's review, they give a good reflection on how truly we enjoyed the sit and bonded with the pets . I have listed them here as you can only read them at the pet owner's listing:
1) Maya and Leo (11 years old Golden Retriever and a 10 years old Lab mix) and Jack and Jill (short haired cats)
"We lived with 2 cats and 2 dogs, despite the number they were easy to take care off. All different personalities, but one thing in common - affectionate. I'm a 5 footer and the dogs were good on the leash and walked both of them solo. Maya always looks hungry all the time, so just ignore her but feed her with lots of pats :) Jon and Kitty are a kind couple taking these 2 dogs in despite them running past their prime age. Leo was just a week in rescued from the pound. Despite their bad past experience, the dogs were well behaved, affectionate and non-aggressive. The cats also rescues, were energetic. Jill, the cat was very affectionate and would often follow you around and even sleep with you. She was one of the few cats we sat that was highly sociable and gentle. Jack and Jill both energetic , loved chasing toys and insects!"
2) Bobba and Janggo, Russian Blue mix cat 15 years old brothers in Gold Coast, Australia. "Getting this sit is like scoring a lottery! Hope Island offered a peaceful and serene place overlooking the golf course, complete with a lake and a small stream . Wild birds chirping and kangaroos grazing in front of the house.
It was complemented by having two cats as your housemates. Cat brothers who were both very handsome and had beautiful green eyes. They loved each other as often enough they licked each other or slept next to each other. They took sometime to warm up to you but once they did they followed us like a dog-cat, want to be cuddled and being picked up. They loved being stroked and laying next to you. I have never seen cats who loved chin scratches as much as they did- closed their eyes and they never grow tired of it. They were really gentle and never once bit or scratched. They were really gentlemen cats and love to "model" - sat with the paws next to each other at the front or paws tucked in under their chest when they slept! And boy, did they sing for their food "Ermm Marmed" that sounded like "You not doing it right" in Cantonese, so we find it hilarious "to be told" that we are "wrong" while preparing their food.
Nora was very helpful and was very responsive on any questions we have before and throughout the stay. Bjorn and Nora are home proud owners and they have a beautiful garden that provided ample supply of basil, chillies, cherry tomatoes and blueberries.
The home is away from the city but is accessible by bus at the front of the entrance. A supermarket just across the road. This is a place for you to soak up the natural surroundings and relax with two adorable cats. We miss the boys very much and hope to come back one day. Till then, we wish Nora, Bjorn, Bobba and Janggo all the happiness!)
3) Mojo and Biscuit, the toy poddles
"Mojo and Biscuit were a dream sitting experience. Well behaved, smart and lots of confidence, which makes them easy to take care. We are to keep an eye on them, but seems to me they were keeping an eye on us! People pleases and want to be part of everything you do. We even brought them to the park, where they had the company of humans and their fur kinds. Sociable and are both calm. The dogs are well loved, both are great pals and that speaks volumes on the love the family showers on them. "
4) Phee and Pachino, the rescue short haired cats
"We had such a good sit because we are still talking about how cute the cats are. Phee is such a sweet cat, she loves being around us and even followed us many times when we were using the loo and shower! She wants us to shower her with lots of belly rubs and cuddles many times throughout the day by dropping down flat on the floor and looking up at you! How could we ignore that?? :) The relationship between Phee and Pachino was endearing. Phee was motherly by being close by while Pachino was playing with the toy sticks and eating. Very sweet moments of them walking side by side, Phee giving Pachino more confidence. We are sure Pachino will break out from her shyness as Linnea is a nice and understanding person."
5) Bobby, the long haired cat.
"We had a good time "chitting" (chatting and sitting) Bobby. This cat really talks and it is not only for food - he meows 'where you going', 'what you doing', 'what are you doing there','what you cooking', 'hello', 'are you awake',etc. He kept quiet during the night time, until you wake up (super great!) He likes to be stroked as much as he would like and tells you when he has enough with a soft bite. He likes to play and even threw one of his toys at me to start his games. He doesn't like his chicken food much! That was the only time he got a little rough! Message noted! :) "
6) Ewok, the rescue short haired cat.
"Maya and Francois gave us our first pet sitting even though they were new to pet sitting as well. Both parties were new to pet sitting, so this was very special to us. Ewok was adapting to his new home. We were happy to help him through the transition. We got along splendidly - played, slept and watched TV. He was easy to take care off - will tell you exactly when he wants to be fed, play and climb up the bed. He never once scratched when you pick him up, perfect gentle cat."
