In addition to running, resistance training and getting clients into shape, I write fiction. This is why traveling is so important to me. Traveling is my passion and I prefer staying in a real home environment during my trips.
If you have one or more dogs who need to be cared for in your absence, I'd be delighted to take them out for a run. I run 10K every day - it offsets all the sitting which writing requires:)
Having had countless cat sitters, plant carers and house sitters in many different homes in Asia and Europe over the years, I am in tune with what housesitting requires and care very much about leaving a home in great shape and pets in good spirit!
Why I want to house sit
Writing is a lonely business and does require solitude. Therefore, I prefer to be by myself to focus on my production, but with the company of lovely pets and plants which require care, attention, and provide me with the necessary rhythms of daily life.
Housesitting allows me to cook sensibly and skillfully as I would in my own kitchen whilst experiencing life in a different country and culture. It also makes one feel less like a tourist and more blended into the local scene.
Traveling is very important to my fiction writing and provides much of the inspiration for my stories.
My experience
I have been returning the favor of friends who catsit for me in NYC by dog sitting, since 1974.
I love animals and most of my life have had cherished pets - dogs, cats, birds and fish, but none now.
Have both dog and housesat for friends in Paris when I lived there.
I am a 'house proud' person who takes great care of my own home and others' as well. Would be pleased to housesit and care for plants (possessing a green thumb!)

We cannot recommend Marian enough. We never had the pleasure of meeting her but communication was great. Seeing as she was our first experience with Trusted Housesitters, we were impressed she made us feel so comfortable with the whole experience. Our house was spotlessly clean on our return and ...
We cannot recommend Marian enough. We never had the pleasure of meeting her but communication was great. Seeing as she was our first experience with Trusted Housesitters, we were impressed she made us feel so comfortable with the whole experience. Our house was spotlessly clean on our return and our cats incredibly chilled and happy. We had regular updates while we were away via WhatsApp and she even made some helpful suggestions with our fussy cats and their food. I think it's the first time we've gone away and I've not worried about the house or cats. She was really helpful with letting us know what was needed to make the process run smoothly. We hope to have her sit for us again one day and then maybe meet her too.

I very much enjoyed your affectionate kitties and your comfortable home.
It was the first time I never had the opportunity to meet my hosts and yet you saw to it that everything went smoothly and I would be comfortable.
I loved being able to walk to the Thames Estuary and Hadleigh Castle and Woods also ... a perfect spot for outdoor splendor!
Hope we'll meet next year!

Marian did a superb job of ensuring that all of my elderly dog's needs were met. This included administering her medication twice per day, feeding and ensuring her overall welfare which she did to a very high standard. Marian was perceptive of her needs and her health and on one occasion had to take her to the vets which was 100% the correct decision so I was very grateful to have someone who was so professional and could give me the peace of mind I needed to leave her which ensured I had a worry free holiday. Marian provided me with regular updates inducing photos. Marian is a very caring person who is knowledgable about animals and I can highly recommend her as a sitter.
