We are a friendly, reliable, professional, non-smoking couple who live in Kathmandu, Nepal, with our 2 children (11 years and 7 years) and our dog, a 9 year old Tibetan Mastiff/Laborador cross. We love animals and love to travel so house sitting is a perfect way for us to see more of the world. We have experience of loving and looking after many different animals, both old and young, and are keen to ensure that your pet(s) is happy, comfortable, has playtime, eats well and has exercise. Unfortunately we can't look after cats as my daughter has a mild allergy.
We are originally from England but have been living abroad for nearly 15 years which means that we are extremely capable of living in different environments and in managing simple everyday situations that can go wrong, such as a washing machine breaking down. We are also landlords of our own house and so understand how you would like your house to be cared for while you are away.
Why we want to house sit
House and pet sitting is a fantastic way to see the world and have a holiday. We are really attracted to the principles of house and pet sitting where a community of people help each other out based on trust, honesty and mutual respect. We are great walkers whether in a city park or in the countryside and there is no better way to do this than with dogs. We also like to cook, so walking a dog and then returning home to a real kitchen and not a hotel - what could be a better way to spend a holiday?
Our experience
We have been looking after other peoples' houses and animals for many, many years but formally joined the "trusted house sitters" community in the summer of 2017. Here in Kathmandu, we have looked after friend's dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters and donkeys while they are on holiday, so we have experience with young and old animals and with different breeds. Natasha grew up with horses. We have had our own dog from a puppy and he is now an older dog, so we are experienced in looking after a wide range of needs and in administering medicine or additional care. We understand the importance of getting to know your pets, treating them individually and showing kindness and patience. As a family, we all love animals and spend our weekends walking our dog in the hills and my daughter is learning to ride a horse.

Natasha and her family looked after Poppy so well that she missed them when they left. They arrived the day before we went on holiday so we could meet them and then another night on our return. They are a charming family and we rate them highly.

Natasha and her children were wonderful sitters who looked after out 4 dogs while we were away. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a house sitter.

I have both worked with Natasha Mesko professionally and know her family personally. Without hesitation, I can recommend Natasha as trustworthy, conscientious and fully responsible to care for homes and pets. I lived with the family for 3 weeks in 2015 after devastating earthquakes hit Nepal and I was unable to live in my own home. The atmosphere in their home was loving, friendly, clean, well-cared for and I felt like part of the family through what was a traumatic period for everyone involved in the earthquakes. Since then, we have become even closer and I'm regularly invited to their lovely home for family meals. Their rescue dog 'Street' is gorgeous, he must be the most loved and well cared for dog that I have ever met! If you are seeking someone to care for your home and/or pets you couldn't wish for anyone better than Natasha.
