Garry & I are parents and grandparents. We enjoy travelling and decided to take an extended holiday in 2019 spending time in Canada, and the British Isles. Garry & I are parents and grandparents. We enjoy travelling and decided to take an extended holiday in 2019 spending time in Canada, and the British Isles. We own our own home and have a good garden which Garry loves. He is a seasoned hunter and fisherman and I tag along on some of the fishing trips. My hobbies are textiles/ patchwork/craft and reading. we both enjoy bushwalking and are not afraid to be off the grid. We had a log cabin in the mountains for 14 years before the 2016 Kaikoura earthquake made our decision to sell. We are both agile and healthy. We have had both cats and dogs over our married life and have made a decision to not replace them because we want to go travelling. All our children have cats, dogs or chickens. As we both grew up on farms we are very familiar with most types of animals.
Why we want to house sit
WE want to housesit because this time we want to stay put and get to know the locals and the areas we travel to. As accommodation is a big cost when travelling we feel we have enough experience looking after other peoples homes to make good house sitters and it is then a win/win situation for everyone.
Our experience
We have regularly sat a friends's home in Wanaka, New Zealand. There were no pets involved in this sit. We also look after our three children's homes and their animals.

Jean and Garry were fabulous guests. They looked after our Dog Locky, taking care of her daily needs. The house and yard was left clean and tidy. We wouldn’t hesitate to have them sit again. Extremely grateful.
