I am heading off on an older age OE. I have been to Europe 9 years ago for 8 weeks and loved it, so am planning 12 months this time. I love local theatre and am regularly caught on stage acting, singing and dancing. I have 3 adorable grand daughters who live close to me and I will miss them while I am away. I have my own home, and apart from a 7 month gap have done for the last 37 years. I look after the lawns and garden myself and do some maintenance myself too, eg painting hanging pictures, curtains etc. I love to bake a deliver the goods to fire stations and fill work mates bellies too.
Why I want to house sit
There will be nothing like getting to know Europe through living as a local for anything from 2 weeks to a couple of months or so. I don't have animals myself but really enjoy their company.
My experience
I have done house sitting in new zealand anything from a week with one cat, up to on a farm for a week with 6 working dogs, a pig and a house cat. I have sat over Xmas period for 3 weeks with a skittish cat that allowed me, on The first day in feont of the owner, to pat her, so that was very comforting for The owner. She even came and sneaked into my bed
