Hi! I'm Ani, and I am originally from the United States and I have been caring for animals for my entire life! I've always had pets and animals around me. My very first job was at a pet adoption agency and my second job was at an animal clinic. I was a professional dog walker in Florida and also in Sydney, Australia, where I had over 30 regular clients.
I have always been a huge animal and earth lover, and I have been vegetarian since the age of 5. I volunteered for several years all over the US and Canada, for animal rights and animal welfare organisations. I also spent quite a bit of time finding homes for homeless animals, and helping to care for rescued farm animals and endangered species (namely, sea turtles).
For the past 3 years, I have been traveling constantly traveling to over 30 countries! Along my travels, I have stayed and pet sit for countless families. It's always an amazing experience, and I enjoy it very much!
For much of 2017, I will be traveling with my husband, Pani. He is also a vegetarian and has a huge heart for animals as well! We both promise to do everything we can to make your time away from your home and pet as worry-free as possible!
I have stayed in many homes along my travels. I have house sat and shared space with a host more times than I can count. If you would like to learn more about me, and read references to other good folks who have opened up their homes to me, then have a look at my couchsurfing profile : couchsurfing.com/britstaton
Also feel free to add me on Facebook:
Thanks for reading! I really hope to meet you and your furry family members soon!
Why we want to house sit
We both have been travelling non-stop for a very long time, often going to a new place every few days. We both want to travel long-term, but perhaps we will want to slow it down a bit and spend a week or two (or longer!) in each place. Pani is an animator, which he can do anywhere! So it is really nice when we can find a place with a wifi connection so he can do a bit of work. It's great that he can do his work and we can explore a new place! And I lways have lots of work to do-- researching and planning for our upcoming travels!
Also, we both LOVE animals and we really miss having pets. We can't have pets while we travel, but at least with this amazing network, we can spend time with other people's pets, and still have the freedom to travel all we want! :)
But above all, I want to housesit so I can help someone! I believe we are all a big family and should help each other! So if you need a hand with something, I would very much like to be of service! :)
Whether it's just keeping the home clean and safe, watering your plants, or caring for your beloved pet, I want you to feel completely comfortable. So please let me know what I can do to ensure you have a pleasant trustedhousesitters experience! :)
I am happy to take on all of the responsibilities of taking care of your home. I will keep your place tidy and maintained, check the mail, tend to the garden, give you regular updates, and anything else you need to make you feel completely comfortable.
And of course, it is absolutely my pleasure to look after your pets!
Here is some of my most recent experience with animals:
19 July - 13 September 2018
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
We were lucky enough to house and pet sit for 4 families during our time in UAE.
Sandy, a gorgeous 18 month old “desert dog” (part Saluki) full of energy! and her sisters, Amy and Ash, two adorable kitties, rescued from the streets of Vietnam.
Zak, a sweet and timid 12 year old Jack Russel, who loved to be by our side at all times! He had arthritis and needed meds each day.
Rex, a funny, playful, loveable 2 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and his wild brother, an Arab cat named Milo.
Baby G, a 13 yr old unbelievably beautiful and sweet cuddly feline!
Dec 23 - Jan 4
While touring Japan, we had the amazing opportunity to look after the home of a nice Australian family living in Tokyo. We stayed with their amazing little dog, Frank, while his family was away for Christmas and New Years. We had the best time bringing him to the local park everyday, and even brought him on a few adventures with us!
29 Aug - 7 Sept 2017
I looked after two rescued street dogs, Oyo and Bibi, while Laila, their guardian, was in China. We had instruction to continue with them a few of their behaviour training techniques. They had specific meal and treat plans, and followed a very healthy diet. Oyo and Bibi had two long walks each day, the first one always at 6 am. They were allowed to be off their leash in non-crowded areas and it was amazing to watch them run and play!
30 April - 14 May 2017
I stayed with the most gorgeous Whippet named Maple, while her mum was out of town for a business trip. There was a fantastic park very close by, and we would go a few times per day and throw the frisbee for a while. She loved running and catching her frisbee!! Maple was a very healthy and active pup. So much fun!
15 March - 15 April 2017
For one month I stayed and helped care for 8 pets while the home owner was writing her book. There were 5 dogs and 3 cats, all rescued. All of the dogs had special needs, so I spent a lot of time preparing their medicine, and giving them massages! They were all very cute and sweet and I was happy I was able to help!
10-20 Dec 2016
During my brief visit back to the states, I visited one of my favourite places in the world. It's a retirement home for horses. Each horse is rescued from bad situations but now they can peacefully live out their lives on beautiful land. I stayed and helped groom and feed all of the horses, and fix things around the farm.
30 April - 5 June 2016
I met an Aussie gentleman who traveled quite a lot for work and holiday, so I stayed a while and took care of his beautiful black lab named Tiger. Tiger absolutely loved accompanying me to the river and swimming! Tiger also was very fond of retrieving the biggest stick she could possibly find and bringing it home! We would later burn it in the fire pit! :)
10 Dec 2015 - 30 Jan 2016
I worked with Sydney's best dog trainer and walked 30 or more dogs per day. We had a very large van and we would pick them up individually and bring them all to an incredible dog park overlooking the sea. They were able to freely run and play. We had dogs of all breeds, sizes and ability. Because of the amazing dog guru I was working with, all of the dogs learned to get along well, and they were each learning their own tricks and skills! What an amazing experience this was!
2013 Jan - 2014 April
Los Angeles, California
While living in LA, I knew many people in the entertainment industry that often worked long hours, so I would go spend time with their dogs! I had many large breeds like huskies , rottweilers and Australian Shepards. I loved taking them with me on hiking adventures! I also had a few smaller breeds that required less exercise but lots of my attention! :) I looked after many cats too! :)
