Hello! We are a happy, go-lucky Canadian & South African couple.

Hello! We are a happy, go-lucky Canadian & South African couple.
We originally met in Nicaragua, where we ran a B&B for a year with 4 dogs, 2 cats, 2 pigs, 2 parrots, and 2 chickens! What a family! Now, we spend half of the year in South Africa, as Tom is a Senior Statistician at a healthcare non-profit, Right to Care, and the other half of the year working remotely! We like to spend this time travelling around the world, and visiting friends we've made along the way.
We are big animal lovers. We both enjoy fitness activities such as hiking and running (always better with a dog!). We love spending time with friends and exploring new neighbourhoods, cities, and countries!
Why we want to house sit
Housesitting is a win-win for everybody! We absolutely love animals, Tom would play with dogs the entirety of his waking hours if he could. Because we have the ability to work remotely, it's great to have a quiet, reliable place to stay that feels more like a home than a hotel. Saving on accommodation costs also gives us the ability to see and do more during our travels.
Our experience
We worked together for a year at a B&B in Nicaragua where we had as pets 4 dogs, 2 cats, 2 chickens, 2 pigs, and 2 parrots!
Also, we both grew up with dogs and cats as pets and absolutely love them. Tom's family still has two labradors that they love dearly. It's very common to housesit for friends and family in South Africa when they are on holiday, so we have spent quite a lot of time doing this for ours!

Evelyn and Tom were fabulous house sitters. Dane loved them from the moment he met them, Tom is quite the dog whisperer! They were easy to communicate with and left the house just the way it was when we left. They kept in touch with us, sending us cute pictures of Dane looking very happy in their care. I would highly recommend them as house sitters and wish they were around longer for our next holiday away!

Evelyn and Tom are fantastic! They took excellent care of our home and garden, and loved our pets as if they were their own. The cats are going to miss them tremendously. Having Evelyn stay at our house and take care of Murphy was a no-brainer. Evelyn took excellent care of our puppy as well as our house. Can't say enough nice things about her. :)
