My hometown Barcelona is an awesome place. But this planet is so grand there's just no way I can refuse to explore! So, where's next:)
About Barbara
I am a freelance translator and content writer from Barcelona, Spain.
A former mountain guide, I am a serious happy traveler, as well as a seriously outdoorsy person. I also try not to skip my daily yoga practice regardless of my location.

A former mountain guide, I am a serious happy traveler, as well as a seriously outdoorsy person. I also try not to skip my daily yoga practice regardless of my location.
I generally love nature and animals. I've grown up surrounded by dogs, little Florida turtles, tropical fish, hamsters... And, for some reason, during the last years I've been around cats all the time which I've learned to love :)
Since my nomad life makes it hard to own pets at the moment, I do volunteer at the local public kennel, walking dogs and taking care of them.
Those who know me value my honesty and reliability, as well as my contagious restlessness -and my twisted sense of humour:)
Why I want to house sit
I really look forward to house sit as a means to travel and see the world. I love traveling and discovering new places but I'd rather do this like a local. Therefore, housesitting is a great fit for me.
I rarely take full time vacations, that's why I'll spend my time mostly working and then stepping out and visitting during small breaks. This is really one of the big advantages of my freelance job.
As a former houseowner, I can understand the peace of mind that comes with knowing you are leaving your pets and your home in trusted hands that will do their best to take care like you would yourself.
Plus, I get to enjoy pets' company and play which is something you tend to miss when you are abroad. A total win-win!
My experience
I signed up for Trusted Housesitters not long ago and I still haven't used the service yet.
However, I've sat other houses and pets privately before. And I've also CouchSurfed, which I think requires more or less a similar mentality.
I really look much forward to interesting housesitting opportunities out there!

Also we do have a few plants -everything was in perfect condition when we came back after three weeks. She even fixed a closet door that I never seemed to find the time to take care of. Thoughtful and reliable, I would definitely recommend her!
