We are Russell and América, experienced house and pet sitters with roots in England and France. Our individual adventures led us to meet on the Camino de Santiago, after which we couldn’t keep apart and just had to get married! We are Russell and América, experienced house and pet sitters with roots in England and France. Our individual adventures led us to meet on the Camino de Santiago, after which we couldn’t keep apart and just had to get married! We are keen to form bonds with pets, meet new people and discover new territories all at the same time.
After several years spent teaching in the UK and abroad, América decided to launch her freelance business so that we could travel more while remaining successful in our lines of work. Russell works in subtitling and web development work; América is a translator. We speak English, French, Spanish, and some German. We don’t smoke and enjoy having a active lifestyle.
Why we want to house sit
Our love for pets is what first brought us to house-sitting. We would love to have our own one day, but for now, we enjoy travelling so much that house-sitting offers the best of both worlds: making new four-legged friends while living in different parts of the world.
We understand that leaving your beloved home and pets can be tricky, and we give paramount importance to ensuring the peace of mind friendly homeowners expect when they entrust us with their property and pets.
And as we work from home, we can cuddle your pets all day! We have a preference for relatively longer house-sits that enable us to settle into a good working routine and build a stronger bond with your pets, although saying goodbye is always a sad moment.
Our experience
We are widely experienced in taking care of all kind of pets and properties. We use a different house-sitting website as well as word-of-mouth: all references from previous house-sits are available online and on request.
We have taken care of dogs, cats, rabbits, tortoises, guinea pigs and chickens. Some were healthy when we met them, others less so, but all have flourished under our attentive supervision. América is trained in pet first aid and has also learnt about pet and poultry psychology.
We have maintained properties as small as flats and as big as chalets, as well as swimming pools, jacuzzi pools, gardens big and small, and a range of plants and flowers. We are happy to do a reasonable amount of DIY should the need arise, or liaise with professionals when suitable (chimney sweeping, etc.).
We are happy to update you frequently, sending you news and artistic pictures of your beloved friends if you so wish! We can also be self-reliant and leave you to enjoy your time away if you prefer.
We look forward to meeting you and adding your pets to our group of friends!

Russell and America have looked after our home on two occasions now, each for a two-week period, taking care of our cat, our guinea pigs and our goldfish. On our return on both occasions, our pets were as happy as we left them, with each of their respective habitats clean and fully replenished.

Our home was even cleaner and tidier than we left it, with no residual evidence of their stay, other than a welcoming collection of homecoming gifts, and very happy pets.
We would have no hesitation at all in recommending them for anyone who is looking for kind, responsible, courteous, responsible, and totally trustworthy house-sitters. We will most definitely be using them again.

Russell and America have house sat for us for approximately twelve weeks. They looked after our long haired cat, brushing her on a daily basis. They also looked after the garden and house to a high standard. They ensured the house was left extremely clean and tidy at the end of the house sit.
