We are young middle aged couple from South West England (Bristol). We are considered warm, friendly, independent, self sufficient and mature. We are calm, caring, well traveled and love animals! We are young middle aged couple from South West England (Bristol). We are considered warm, friendly, independent, self sufficient and mature. We are calm, caring, well traveled and love animals! We have current criminal record checks. We are both former professionals. Catherine has had a career in complementary health and Rob is a retired Police Officer having served 32 years, mainly as a Detective. Rob has investigated some of the most serious and high profile cases in the UK in recent years. Rob is a keen motorcyclist and is involved with a local church motorcycle group.
After retiring Rob worked for 3 years as an Education Welfare Officer in one of the largest academy schools in Bristol (DBS checked). Rob has 2 grown up children who are both following professional careers.
Catherine has been a self employed Massage therapist (20 years+) & Nutritionist. Catherine has lived, worked and studied in Jamaica and Canada. Catherine also practises additional Holistic Therapies (Reflexology & Reiki) and holds a Post Graduate in Public Health.
Catherine & Rob are healthy lifestyle enthusiasts and respectful to nature & the environment. Catherine & Rob both love Country and City Breaks. Hobbies include movies, live music, theatre, festivals, travelling to new places and generally being active. Catherine & Rob are both fit, 'outdoorsy', enjoy photography, motorbiking, cycling, walking , boating/sailing, hiking & water sports. Likewise, we love to relax indoors with a movie, book or just listening to music.
We are confident in looking after all pets and animals.
We are clean and super tidy people. Non Smokers . Our preference is for a non smoking home. We would be respectful of your home and belongings, we are very security and safety conscious.
Why we want to house sit
Being trusted housesitters will enable us to spend our time travelling in a different, rewarding way and offers us increased opportunities to spend time cuddling (your) pets. We look forward to meeting new people and immerse our selves in new locations, communities and cultures. We love pets and animals of all sorts. Being a Trusted House Sitter introduces us to places off the tourist trail and opportunities to meet, and live beside, local residents- a far more authentic experience. We offer honesty, commitment and reliability.
Our experience
So far in 2018 we have completed sits with Lulu a springer spaniel and 12 ducks in a Bed and Breakfast Property in Wiltshire UK, 2 Cats in the Cotswolds UK (two bookings), 3 Cats in Loire, France, 2 cats in Boston USA, 1 cat in Germany and 2 cats in Thailand (a personal referral). We are currently booked for sits in New Zealand (2 dog sits) for October 2018. We have gratefully received 5* reviews for all our sits.
Myself and Catherine have been pet owners (indoor and outdoor cats) for over 30 years and know how pets are a true part of the family, receiving equal love and attention. We have earlier this year lost our own beloved cat Mr Paws to cancer, so we are looking forward to lots of cuddles on our sits.
Outside of THS we have house sat for friends with pets. Catherine in Canada and Jamaica and both of us in the UK. Catherine has cared for one of her cat's with kittens, supported their arrival and house trained them. Catherine regularly stays with her friend in Newport, Wales to go walking with her friend's cockapoo, Pheobe. In the recent past,
Catherine has cared for a friend's poodle, taking her on a multi- train trip from Ascot to Maidstone. Historically Catherine's family pet was a rescue Jack Russell, called Jack ;). Catherine regularly cared for her sisters' German Shepherd an ex-police trained puppy. Catherine has also owned a pair of 'love birds' and a family Russian Dwarf Hamsters.
I have cared for a labrador guide dog and a 3 legged whippet whilst their owners were away. We are confident in looking after other pets such as dogs. I have kept tropical and outdoor fish and am familiar with their care and water maintenance. We are social media savvy and happy to take and post you pics whilst youre away.

Rob and Catherine greatly exceeded our expectations and we quickly asked them to return again. They were super attentive to our dog Benji and took him on excursions all over the desert. All was in perfect order upon our return and they even had a bottle of champagne ready to open to welcome us ...
Rob and Catherine greatly exceeded our expectations and we quickly asked them to return again. They were super attentive to our dog Benji and took him on excursions all over the desert. All was in perfect order upon our return and they even had a bottle of champagne ready to open to welcome us home. This was our first experience using this service; so we had been a bit apprehensive before the sitting; but soon realized that we had chosen the perfect sitters. They made us feel very comfortable with a couple of video conversations before arriving here. We had wonderful photos of their caring for Benji every day. They are our first choice to sit for the next trip!

I can't recommend the awesome couple Rob and Catherine enough! It's so nice to leave you're much loved fur babies and come home knowing they have been loved and looked after so well. They looked after our place for two weeks, taking care of our dogs, sheep and chickens. We really appreciate it. R...
I can't recommend the awesome couple Rob and Catherine enough! It's so nice to leave you're much loved fur babies and come home knowing they have been loved and looked after so well. They looked after our place for two weeks, taking care of our dogs, sheep and chickens. We really appreciate it. Rob even mowed the lawn and the house was left immaculate upon return. Highly recommend!

Robert and Catherine were excellent and I would not hesitate to invite them over agsin.
They are a very decent, kind and reliable couple who were genuinely fond of Shadow and took good care of him.
They came with a toy as a gift for Shadow.
They sent me regular updates and photos of the fun times...Robert and Catherine were excellent and I would not hesitate to invite them over agsin.

The house was neat and tidy on my return. They had even baked me a banana and sultana loaf without any added sugar.
Robert and Catherine made an amazing video of the fun times they had with Shadow during their stay here.
I count myself fortunate for having Robert and Catherine stay in my house to take care of Shadow and my house.
