About Pam & Christopher
Although we are retired we are very active. We love to travel and would also be able to house swop. We do lots of volunteer work and are members of The Lions Club of Bideford and are on the fundraising team of The Children's Hospice South West

Why we want to house sit
As we love to travel we would love to housesit as it would mean that we can do more travelling and at the same time look after animals which we now don't have of our own.
Our experience
Up until retiring a few years ago we always had animals but we like to travel and like to just lock up and go so this does not lend itself to having a dog or cat of our own. We had labradors and bulldogs and 2 cats over a period of 30 years and they were a major part of our lives. However since deciding to retire and not have any pets we do miss them. So to be able to travel to different places and also look after pets at the same time would be perfect for us.

Pam and Chris did a great job looking after our various animals, especially the dogs and poultry, and the garden on our property. The house was left clean and tidy. They fitted in well in our small neighbourhood.

Pam and Chris were a friendly couple who were very responsive and organized with the details leading up to their arrival to Australia to care for my home and puppies. They looked after our puppies with great care, kept in contact with us while we were away and on our return home they cleaned the linen for our bed which was a nice welcome home after a long drive from our holiday.

New to THS, we struck lucky first time with Pam and Chris. Since we were leaving for the airport mid-morning, we suggested they arrive the evening before so that we could get to know each other over dinner. It was immediately apparent that not only we got on together but that they and Gertie did too. Emails from Pam while we were away confirmed that they were getting on fine. Unfortunately we didn't see them when we returned home as they had a five-hour journey home, so we asked a local friend to cover the gap. We spoke on the phone next day and it was clear that they had both enjoyed their stay; if Gertie could speak she would have said how much she already missed them. We'd happily ask them again.
