We are a happy, outgoing couple who love to travel and explore other places. We are currently without our own pets so we have enjoyed an extended period of globetrotting, and are currently going between Portugal and the UK. I am an ex teacher and Phil is an engineer and was a company director before he retired. My last police disclosure is a few years out of date.
Why we want to house sit
Its the ideal way to discover new places and experience other ways of life, and a great way to at least start to experience different communities or places. We like change and love to shop locally and cook for ourselves. We are lucky to now have more time, and be able to absorb things at a much slower pace.
Our experience
We have done quite a few house-sits in the last couple of years, and have been taken by surprise how easy it is to ‘fall in love’ with our charges. We have had a wide experience of breed of both cats and dogs, and have been bowled over by Rhodesian Ridgebacks, a Finish Laphund and a Chihuahua, to list a few. We also have experience of rescued animals.
We have always had cats and dogs, goldfish and gerbils both whilst our family was growing up and more recently. Phil finished work a few years ago and having finished bringing our Georgian townhouse back to its former glory, we have been travelling more or less full time since 2016, when our last cat and dog died. Having renovated houses and landscaped gardens, we can in an emergency turn our hands to most things. We are are currently renovating a Portuguese Quinta.
We are genuine animal lovers and having pets to look after, is an added bonus for us. We are also house proud and we will keep your house and garden looking the same as when you left it.
Do contact us as we are happy to discuss your individual house-sitting needs. We are both very respectful of others' privacy and we share household tasks. When we 'settle down' again we want to keep chickens, goats and alpaca and get another dog or two!

This is the second time Sian and Phil sat for us. So that should say more than enough! They looked after our home and our two dogs and as before did a great job. Highly recommended.
