Sousa & David
Pet and house sitting - who ya gonna call - Sue and Dave!
About Sousa & David
Sue's had a variety of careers, all have revolved around supporting people to gain a better life. Her last full-time jobs were Neuro-diversity performance coaching and supporting learning disabled clients in their own homes. Sue tends to love everything she chooses to do!

Dave grew up in a farming community near Evesham. His family had a small holding where his parents and grandparents lived and worked. He started repairing tractors then went on to learn motor mechanics - working on classic cars and what he calls 'continentals', working in Stratford and Evesham. He grew up repairing his friend's cars (including Ozzy Osbourne and friends!) and helping another friend with his rally car racing.
We met after both suffering sadness in our lives - Dave lost his partner after a long illness and I lost my husband and home after 23 years of marriage.
We are Yin and Yang partners. We fill in the gaps for one another - he calms me down, I wind him up, lol!
We look forward to looking after your home and pets, and exploring your local area.
Why we want to house sit
Love to visit different areas and exploring, gardening, walking and quiet times. Must be UK based as Dave isn't into travelling like Sue. Although Sue is used to lone travelling abroad!
We live in the Forest of Dean, so living alongside wildlife is the norm for us.
We have both had a lot of different animals in our lives, Dave comes from a farming background and Sue has taken care of a lot of pets over the years.
Our experience
Sue and Dave have a natural affinity with animals and don't like to see any creature harmed. We have owned a few different types of pets over the years.
When the children left home, Sue worked as a private live-in housekeeper/companion, her duties included looking after homes, gardens and pets, often being requested to come back by the family. Some clients became her main clients, where she worked regularly over several years.
Dave, although 70 is still very active, enjoying gardening, repairing and making things, off-road mountain biking through the forest and around Wales, and also enjoys the quiet life. He grew up in the country, with feral cats, working dogs, horses, pigs, chickens, goats, sheep and cattle to look after - although he says he will never like rats! However, that's where Sue would step in, as she loved keeping hamsters!!

I was lucky enough to meet Sousa before she and Dave house-sat for us this Christmas. She is a lovely, engaging and caring person and I felt confident leaving the house and pets in her care. We arrived home yesterday to a beautifully clean house, very happy pets, excellent paper chain decorations and even some Christmas goodies! I have no hesitation in recommending Sousa and Dave to anyone looking for a sitter - they are wonderful and I hope they can come again.

Sousa is a very experienced house sitter and looked after our house and dogs fantastically. The house was cleaner than when we left with a lovely bunch of flowers waiting for us upon our return. Sousa had also washed her linen. Before we left, Sousa agreed with us how often she would get in contact and she gave us a great debrief when we returned which filled us with confidence that both our dogs and house were well cared for. We would certainly have Sousa back if she was available when we next go away.
