We are Paul and Annette Farrow, married for 33 years, recently retired and looking forward to enjoying the next phase of our life! We own a property in the Cotswolds and would welcome the opportunity of looking after your home and pets whilst you are away. We are currently based in Spain but have family and friends in the uk who we love to visit. This means that we are ideally situated to do house sits in either the uk or mainland europe. We are animal lovers and have owned dogs for over 30 years. We love walking in the countryside and exploring new areas. We look forward to getting to know you and helping you to feel secure in the knowledge that your home and pets will be well looked after.
Why we want to house sit
Now we are retired we would like to explore more of the UK, Europe and the rest of the world but not as tourists. We own a property in Spain, and enjoy the experience of living as 'locals', integrating with the local community and developing friendships. We would love to own another dog, but because of our desire to travel we have decided that it is not practical at the moment. It's not the same going for a walk without a dog! If we had some furry friends to adopt on a temporary basis we would be in heaven! We have complete flexibility
We started housesitting in February 2016 and now have completed several sits in Spain, UK, Italy and France. We have experience of looking after multiple dogs, young dogs, old dogs, big dogs and little dogs! Also chickens, cats and birds. Our experience includes looking after a Labrador who was trained as a guide dog for the blind. He was a young dog, and it was necessary for us to adhere to his strict training regime which we managed to do! On occasions it has been necessary to administer medication. The properties we have looked after have ranged from very small to substantial. We will look after your home like our own and very happy to water plants, weed and cut grass. Your home will be in the same condition on your return as it was when you left it!Since we started house sitting in February 2016 we have completed a total of 21weeks looking after your lovely homes and pets! During 2017 we went to Italy for 4 weeks, looking after an Italian hunting dog, a Heinz 57 and a very elderly golden retriever! We have completed 2 sits in France looking after a border collie and 3 English setters. To help you, here are some of our combined accomplishments:-40 year career in the magistrates' court serviceRunning our own businesses2 children!!Member of Lions InternationalSchool GovernorDog ownersRegistered dog walker for 'borrowmydoggy.co.uk'Previous employment as a home care workerVolunteer for a local 'befriending' serviceVolunteer for local 'dial-a-ride'We have always owned our own home and get great enjoyment from our home and garden. They are a delightful couple in every way; always chatty, helpful and fun. They are kind and supportive when a problem occurs be it a medical emergency or simply if one of us has locked ourselves out. Nothing is too much of a problem for them, a friendly face, a cup of tea or even dinner. They have a lovely house which they have worked painstakingly on during the last few years and have created a delightful home. Both Paul and Annette are very active within the Tetbury Community:Annette with The Tetbury Amateur Dramatics Society, Tetbury Memory Club, a member of both the Choir and Art Society and is a Home Care Worker. She has also been involved with a befriending group enabling wheelchair bound people to socialise within the community. Paul is an active member and past President of The Tetbury Lions Club and is a Cotswold Volunteer for the Tetbury Dial-a-Ride Service which operates as part of Healthwatch Gloucestershire. They are well known and loved in Tetbury, a town in which they have lived for 30 years. I myself own cats as pets and I have no problem in asking Paul and Annette to look after them if I go away. They keep an eye on my house, water the plants and pull the curtains etc. They are both reliable and totally trustworthy in every way.I fully support and recommend Paul and Annette Farrow as registered Trusted House Sitters.Yours sincerelyTina StevensonCllr Tina Stevenson Councillor for Tetbury with UptonCotswold District CouncilTetbury Town CouncilREFERENCE 2Barry WicksPaul & Annette FarrowI have known Paul for over 20 years, having first met him on my appointment as a Justice of the Peace. Paul was a senior legal manager in HM Courts Service. On leaving the Service, Paul and I established Maroubra Personal Development Ltd., where he was a co-director and in which he now has a purely consultancy role.I consider Paul to be one of my best friends. He supported me in my work as a magistrate and he has proved to be an invaluable colleague in the establishment of our business.Paul and Annette are well-respected members of their local community, Paul having served as the president of his local Lions Club where he continues his membership. He is also a volunteer for a local charity supporting less able and vulnerable people.Paul and Annette are trustworthy, reliable and hard working. They are people that one can rely upon for support, advice and friendship. Paul and Annette, have decided to take some time out to experience living in other parts of the world in 2016 and, maybe, beyond. They tell me that they are looking to housesit and that some of the responsibilities in doing this may involve looking after pets and some generic household tasks. Having owned three dogs as well as other domestic animals, they are both very able to do this. Additionally, they would take very good care of any property that they may sit.I have no hesitation in providing this reference for them and I am happy to provide any other information that may be required.Barry WicksBarry WicksDirector
