Hello. I hope you will choose me to look after your pets and home. I'm 60 and now retired after spending a career in broadcasting so I'm free to take the opportunity for new adventures. I have always travelled and love the experience of being in a new place whether that's in the UK or overseas. Over the years, I have looked after pets and houses for friends so I'm a veteran at the job. Among them there was Jeddah the beautiful German Shepherd, Basil the Corgi who was a character and loved going for walks, Hovis and Alfie who were a mixture and full of life, Jessie the sheepdog and Blue the Collie who gave joy and peace to everyone. After a break from sitting, I took up the chance again last year and completed four dog and housesits - three months in Bristol with Meg the beautiful Portuguese Water Dog (we had many wonderful days out on the train, at the beach and meeting up with our pals on The Downs) and three weeks with energetic Border Collie Mac (long walks in the hills and hours of of retrieving balls) both of which I did through this site then cute little Cavachon Bobbie in Bristol whose owners I got to know whilst with Meg and I spent Christmas with my cousin's lovely Golden Retriever Jess. I enjoy walking, cycling, swimming, dancing, gardening, DIY, reading, learning guitar and piano, languages and sailing.
Why I want to house sit
I now have the time to explore places and looking after someone's pets and house seems to be the perfect way to do it. I've done a lot of camping on my own and I'm happy to travel alone, but house and pet sitting would be a great chance to get to know a local area in more depth.
My experience
I have looked after many pets for friends in their own home, anything from a weekend to 3 months and loved it. I'm also very capable of doing maintenance and gardening which I have done at my own properties over the years as well as helping my family and friends with their houses. I'm reliable, considerate, practical, healthy and strong (surprisingly for a very petite person).
