Why I want to house sit
I'm a fit, positive and well-educated lady of 62 with lots of creative energy. I am free to travel to any location in southern England to housesit/ petsit from September 9th for up to 2 years. I've been running my own very successful B&B in the New Forest for 5 years (open April-Oct), and after this season I'm taking a break to write (I am author of several publications). I am an experienced horse-owner and have kept my own goats, chickens, cats and dogs at various times over the years. I would be more than happy to look after your pets/livestock and would care for them as if they were my own. On recent house sitting assignments I have added feral cats and alpacas to my list of charges! My beloved Rottweiler Tilly passed away last Christmas after 11 happy years together. There was hardly a day when we didn't have a long ramble in the New Forest and I miss my doggy walks! If you don't have pets I will be content keeping the house/garden beautiful for when you return. I am ideally looking for a longer term position in (preferably) Berks/Surrey/Hants but am flexible. For myself, I require nothing more than a quiet space and broadband connection to write and research my subject, and the chance to pursue my hobbies for a few hours a week: bell-ringing, cycling, an occasional night at the theatre and of course a nearby coffee shop for the daily Flat White! Please let me know if our needs can be matched!
My experience
Having managed a holiday retreat for 2 years, and then run my own B&B for the past 5, I am skilled at maintaining and presenting a property to a very high standard, as well as managing cleaning/odd-job staff. And I enjoy it! I have lived on a farm where I kept chickens and horses, dogs and cats, so I am used to handling livestock and exercising and caring for pets. I am a solo sitter, a mother of two adult sons and a toddler grandson. I have a recent enhanced DBS, first aid certificate, food hygiene certificate and clean driving license.

Jenny is a wonderful, kind person who took superb care of our house, dog, two cats and guinea pig while our family were away over Christmas. We arrived back to a fully stocked fridge, happy pets and a sparkling clean house! High recommended, hope she can return to sit for us again!
