Warm, caring and conscientious couple who are looking to explore the world and make new friends. With over 6 years experience combined, we've looked after dogs, cats, horses, ferrets and a hedgehog. We're outdoorsy and active. We're both freelancers so are able to spend all our time with your pets and taking good care of your home. We look forward to meeting you.
We're 29 (Mel) and 34 (Matt), and have been together for over 3.5 years. We met at work in London – at a company called Escape The City – where we helped people transition from unfulfilling corporate jobs into more meaningful and fulfilling work.
Matt is freelance writer, facilitator and speaker, focused on helping people find more fulfilling work and helping organisations build great cultures.
Mel is a freelance community builder, recruiter and careers coach. She's currently working with a company called Inkpact that helps organisatiosn deliver beautiful handwritten notes to their customers.
Why we want to house sit
We love traveling like locals, which is why we love housesitting – it's the ultimate local experience. We've been shown kindness as travellers in the past, so we enjoy returning the favor and hosting fellow travellers, or watching people's homes and taking care of their pets while they're traveling.
Our experience
We're a global couple – Matt from the US, Mel from England and grew up partly in Switzerland. Before discovering TrustedHousesitters, we've both housesat and have taken care of animals both big and small – dogs, cats, horses, ferrets, hedgehogs – and everything in between! And we're eager to learn and care for more.

Matt and Mel were ideal house sitters. They looked after all the dogs, horses and chickens and took everything in their stride. The house was left neat, tidy and clean and we have no hesitation in recommending them as sitters and would willingly have them back again.

Matt and Mel are fabulous housesitters! They guided us novices through the info they needed and looked after our home as if it were their own (it was spotless when we got home). The dogs were so happy and were very sad to see Matt and Mel go. The cats, who can be fussy, were well looked after and...
Matt and Mel are fabulous housesitters! They guided us novices through the info they needed and looked after our home as if it were their own (it was spotless when we got home). The dogs were so happy and were very sad to see Matt and Mel go. The cats, who can be fussy, were well looked after and content. Throughout their stay we communicated via WhatsApp. They sent us pictures of the animals and them having fun and it enabled them to ask us if they had any questions. This worked very well for us.
This was our first experience with Trusted Housesitters and it worked perfectly. Matt and Mel are welcome back at any time.- Organised

We have been so lucky to find Matt and Mel to look after our newly laid garden in a heatwave and our 3 busy working cockers. They have been incredibly conscientious whilst we have been in Canada and we have come back to a lovely tidy house (and a clean car!).

They kept in touch with us through What’s App , sending photos of dogs and garden. We loved their enthusiasm.
Whoever is lucky enough to have them as their sitters will not be disappointed. We hope they will come back when we next go away on an extended holiday.- Organised
