We have been together since 2011 and got married in November 2015. Rob is a software developer for a US bank and Gill is a freelance photographer, writer and marketing consultant. We travel as much as we can and, when possible, we also work remotely as well. Gill can work from anywhere, but Rob is slightly more tied to London at the moment - although with some flexibility. We are developing a long term plan to do more and more house sitting in the future - and are continuing to build up our credentials as house-sitters in the interim, while working and during holidays. In fact we recently completed our first overseas house sit - all the way from the UK to Singapore! We are professional, intelligent, friendly and tidy (as you can see from our reviews) and Rob is a proper Dr Doolittle when it comes to pretty much any type of animals.
Why we want to house sit
We love animals and would dearly like to have cats and dogs of our own at the very least - but we also do quite a lot of travelling, both as sitters and otherwise, so we don't think it would be fair to have pets at the moment - though we're definitely planning an entire menagerie once we get over the travelling bug, if we ever do. Being house sitters gives us the best of both worlds, allowing us to experience new places and meet new people - with the privilege of being able to spend time with their pets, in the absence of our own. As Gill works from home this also means she is around during the day to spend time with the animals we are sitting for - which we find that owners really appreciate!
Our experience
We have been house sitting since March 2016 and we are really enjoying it. We have completed over 20 sits - including multiple repeat sits for the same owners - involving both cats and dogs, and a litter of five-week-old kittens! Mostly through this site but we also sit regularly for friends in London - the review for that is in our 'references' section. We are looking forward to continuing to prove that we can do an excellent job - as our reviews hopefully show, and to taking on more overseas sits as our diary allows.
As a marketing project manager Gill has to be extremely organised and efficient, and this is something that carries across to our travelling world as well. We travel regularly already, and we are meticulous in our planning, communication and all of the practical arrangements - so you'll never have to worry about us not turning up when we're supposed to. It also means that we will be able to deal with any situations which may arise while you are away, without having to disrupt your trip unless absolutely necessary.
We both love animals and between us have owned or looked after numerous dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish, birds and turtles. We also have some experience with horses, as Rob used to ride regularly until a few years ago.

Of course it was spotless as always - couldn't tell that you'd been, apart from the dogs' very happy waggy tails. Thank you as always!

Gill and Rob sat for our very elderly cat and 6 chickens over the bank holiday weekend recently. They were very reliable - turning up exactly on time and even waiting for us to get home at the end to handover, which was nice of them. They meticulously noted all my pernickety instructions regarding looking after the animals and the house and we felt very confident going off and leaving everything in their care. They texted us while we were away with updates and photos which was very reassuring. They not only looked after our pets very well but Gill took some amazing photos of them, and of our house, to the extent that I am hiring her to come back and do some more over the summer! She also did a little video of one of our chickens running across the garden, set to music, which is so funny I have almost worn it out watching it so many times! The house was left lovely and clean too. We can highly recommend them and would love to have them back anytime.
