About Julie & Jonathan
We are fit and active 'young' 50+ year olds, married and non-smokers. We took early retirement a few years ago and since then we have been enjoying our passion of travelling. We love animals and we miss not now owning our own pets. Then we came across 'Trusted House Sitters' and we wondered if here could be an exciting opportunity to include...
We are fit and active 'young' 50+ year olds, married and non-smokers. We took early retirement a few years ago and since then we have been enjoying our passion of travelling. We love animals and we miss not now owning our own pets. Then we came across 'Trusted House Sitters' and we wondered if here could be an exciting opportunity to include house and pet sitting as part of our future plans. It seemed like a dream - looking after adorable pets, meeting new people and experiencing new locations.
We are in our first year with Trusted House Sitters having just completed our 8th sit and have been truly thrilled with the reviews left by owners. Your pets and house will be in the safe hands of an experienced and highly dependable couple that you can confidently rely on.
We are both retired from our real jobs, I was a school bursar and personal assistant to the head teacher. Jonathan has been responsible for managing multi million pound leisure centres, and then later setting up a property management company including pool maintenance and also a Learn to Swim School. We have both undergone police checks.
Our other experience over the past 20 years includes, bringing up 4 happy children, caring for 6 dogs and 1 cat into their old age, tending to a collection of 10 chickens, two rabbits, two guinea pigs, a collection of mice and gerbils, gold fish and sticklebacks. We have also looked after sheep and horses for relations in the past.
What you can expect from us ..... We will totally love and care for your pets as if they were our own and follow any instructions meticulously regarding your pets needs. We will keep you updated while you are away by email or text message. We will keep your home safe and clean and protected. Jonathan is the practical one and can carry out most odd jobs or emergency repair work if needed. Most importantly, we are kind, honest and reliable with lots of common sense and we adore animals... and humans. We are so looking forward to meeting lots of pets and lots of owners.
Why we want to house sit
From an early age we were brought up with dogs wandering around the house and this has continued into our 40's with a number of pets while bringing up our children. We have missed our pets over the past few years, almost as much as our children! But we are not quite ready to settle down for the next few years and are exited about our pet sitting journey.
We have always taken our responsibilities seriously and when it comes to looking after someone else's home and furry or feathered loved ones we know the immense responsibility and trust that has been put in us. We would like to take a moment to guarantee that your pets, home and garden will be our top priority while we are at your house. We are in our first year with Trusted House Sitters, but have 20+ years of being home and pet owners and very much hope you will give us the opportunity to care for your pets and homes.
Our experience
We have 20+ years of being home and pet owners and have now completed our first few pet sitting experience through Trusted House Sitters. We have taken care of some beautiful pets and have found it hard to say goodbye to them every one of them. We have experience with a large breed dog, having completed pet sits for a beautiful Pyrenean Mastiff and Buster the Rottweiler. Our experience also includes the smallest of dogs having cared for Lucy the Chihuahua for 2 weeks. We've also had the pleasure of caring for 6 Terriers, a Boxer, a German Shepherd, a Polish Sheep Dog, two Labradors, a Labradoodle and Goldendoodle. Not forgetting a hamster, two cats and seven chickens!

Julie and Jonathan looked after our house and Montydog for 10 days with great care and dedication. I don't think that the dog has ever had so much attention and such a well-washed bowl. They clearly love dogs and I would recommend them to anyone who needs a animal/house sit (and a spring clean)....

Brilliant sitters. Second time of asked Julie and Jonathan to look after Gemma. Great couple and my dog loves them. They are so organised on arrival meaning I can leave almost straight away confident that Gemma and my home are in good hands. Can't recommend them highly enough, thanks again guys!

Julie and Jonathan are truly fabulous people and house sitters.
They kept us well informed as to how things were going for them and our dogs with messages and pictures. It was also really helpful that they came to visit us some weeks before the sit was due to start.
They were amazing with our boy...Julie and Jonathan are truly fabulous people and house sitters.

They were amazing with our boys and cared for them with great insight into their personalities and they provided them with truly top care.
The boys were relaxed and happy on our return.
Julie and Jonathan also treated our home with care and respect and the house was spotless when we arrived home.
