About Cindy & John

John and I have spent most of our adult life working for the Ministry of Defence both in the UK and overseas. John also was in the RAF prior to joining the Ministry of Defence. We have been keen to house-sit for a while however, this was not possible as we had a rescue cat - Elvie. Sadly, Elvie passed away last year and even though, she required medication for several illnesses, she lived to a ripe old age. Prior to adopting Elvie, we have shared all of our adult lives with various pets including dogs, cats, hamsters etc. We also spend a lot of time fund raising and volunteering for local rescue centres. As well as our love for pets, we are very house proud people who would leave any house-sit property immaculate and well taken care off.
Why we want to house sit
John and I are now retired although, it often doesn't feel like that! We both volunteer for local and national charities and I am a Town Councillor, Mayor of Wellington and Chair of a local Arts Festival. I am also studying for the Open University - all of which takes up our time. We believe that house sitting will enable us to spend quality time together whilst providing us with the opportunity to explore new places.
Our experience
My husband and I are both experienced pet owners having shared our lives with cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters and budgies all of our adult lives. We believe that pets make a house into a home and any pets in our care would be expertly taken care off. I spent several years house sitting whilst living in Hampshire and prior to moving to Germany as part of my career for the Ministry of Defence.

The minute John walked in the door he was on his knees with our two dogs giving them a huge amount of calm attention, which they loved from the outset. I'm not sure John had even taken his shoes and coat off before he had won them over! Cindy was warm and friendly putting me at ease instantly and was totally up to speed with our notes on our home and dogs!
Both Jon and Cindy are totally reliable and competent Housesitters, keeping us updated with dog news and never giving us cause for concern. I would highly recommend them to you as a calm, considerate and confident sitter who will look after your home and animals. They even visited our vets to pick up a repeat prescription, which they ran out of, which I really appreciated!
We would welcome Cindy and John back to our home and have already spoken about a repeat housesit. They know our local area and have family in the area, so it gives you confidence that they genuinely want to visit the area and commit to the Housesit.
I wish John and Cindy well on their house sitting adventure and hope that many more people experience them as carers of their homes and pets..- Organised
