We love absorbing what a new area has to offer, and always plan walks, bike rides, and trips out in order to get the most out of each destination. We swim, cycle, walk and run as well as horse riding and doing variety of water sports, including kayaking, surfing and stand up paddle boarding.

Perfect Hosts in the Perfect Location
Pembrokeshire and St Davids has been on my visit list for many years and we finally made the trip down there for a four-night stay. St Davids is delightful, tucked away on its peninsular with the sea only a couple of miles in several directions. The beaches are superb and the hottest summer in years and years meant we could just head over, stare at the horizon, listen to the sea and completely clear our heads.
Pete and Jane at Bryn Awel were also superb in lots of ways. On arrival after they had helped us with our luggage, we sat down in the living room with a pot of tea and a welcome chat and as this was our first visit, Jane took the time to tell us all about the area, what to see and do and how to get about. Throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble and we really were made to feel at home.
The room was extremely comfortable and perfect for what we wanted. Breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of cereals, fruit and freshly-cooked items to start our day. The B&B is only a short walk from all the shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and the cathedral, yet really quiet on a night.
We really can't thank Pete and Jane enough for looking after us and making us feel so welcome. We would absolutely stay with them again.

Lovely B&B, Lovely hosts, Lovely time in St Davids
We stayed four nights as we wanted to visit Ramsey & Skomer islands and have previously stayed in St Davids, which is a lovely City that feels more like a country village. I cannot believe how lucky we were this time to find the Bryn Awel. Jane & Pete were excellent hosts and made us feel more like old friends than guests. They both greeted us on arrival and helped unload the car and carry our many bags to our room. They recommended excellent local restaurants, Cwtch and the St Davids Kitchen, to us and the other guests. The rooms are spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated with lovely bathrooms and a large powerful shower. Breakfast was superb, freshly cooked local produce with many options to choose from. Jane & Pete are a lovely, friendly couple and nothing was too much trouble for them.
Thanks for making us welcome.
Sue & Dave.

Oasis in St. David's
I was hiking the Wales Coast Path, roughly two weeks into my journey, and needed to take an extra day of rest after many days of walking without a break. I'd spent a night Broad Haven, and was a little unsure of the distance to St. David's and getting from St. Justinian's into St. David's, so I called the Bryn Awel to ask about accommodations and logistics. I spoke with Pete, who couldn't have been more gracious and helpful with directions, distances, and assisting me with the bus schedule into St. David's.
I can't say enough about my time at Bryn Awel, Pete & Jane were fabulous hosts, the breakfast was outstanding, the room & ensuite bath was beautifully redecorated, and the location was perfect!

Why we want to house sit
Following the sale of our guesthouse, we are now ready once again, to travel in our motorhome, throughout the UK and Europe in order to find new horizons, adventures and opportunities! We are very excited about house sitting homes and pets, whilst we immerse ourselves in the people and places that we visit on our journey. Trusted Houseitters provides the perfect opportunity for us to do so. We are both very outgoing and friendly, adaptable, conscientious, and extremely respectful of peoples homes and belongings (Jane blames my OCD!). We thrive on new adventures and challenges and are looking forward to building a positive profile and reviews on Trusted Housesitters, from homeowners with and without pets, as we have with TripAdvisor, whilst running our guesthouse. House sitting will, we are sure, ensure that we spend quality time in an area, and see it, not as passing tourists but as locals do. (A lesson that we have learned whilst travelling previously)
Although Jane & I are new to Trusted Housesitters, we are very keen to start building positive feedback from our first house sits. In our 30 years together we have had many opportunities to help, family, friends and friends of friends out with looking after property, possessions and pets of all types. Here in St Davids, as well as running our successful guesthouse, we look after several properties regularly throughout the year. These range from a small farm/smallholding in Solva (the owner competes in treks/horse trials throughout the UK) a beachside retreat above whitesands beach, a holiday cottage in town and another bed and breakfast in Nolton Haven. References would be willingly provided for all of these. During our time together we have renovated 3 properties, whilst owning 3 dogs over the years (Dexter, the border collie, still going strong!) Jane has been riding horses her whole life and we both love and have experience of looking after a wide variety of property and grounds, along with pets and livestock including cats, goats, sheep, donkeys, horses, dogs, chickens and even stick insects! We really do love animals! We feel that our experience with running our b&b also stands us in good stead to be good housesitters. We are both practical and resourceful people and will always aim to go that extra mile in order to exceed expectations.
