Christine and I are semi-retired primary school teachers who have lived and worked in the UK and around the world. We've decided to take a career break and would like to travel as much as possible. We love animals, travel, and the great outdoors. We always enjoy meeting new people and learning about new places. We look forward to meeting you, and looking after your home and pets.
Why we want to house sit
House sitting offers a wonderful opportunity for us to spend quality time with animals. After we lost our own pets last year (to old age) we decided not to have any more animals for the foreseeable future. So the chance to look after other people's pets, and care for them the way we would care for our own animals seemed too good to miss.
Our experience
We are both very kind, caring people who love animals. We have both lived and worked abroad (as teachers) for many years, so we are very experienced at adapting to new places and settling in quickly. We have a lot of experience with looking after properties, both our own and other people's, and we have always treated our pets as part of our family. We are fit and active (both in our late 40's), non smokers, and are very neat, clean and tidy.

Richard and Christine were fantastic house-sitters. We met them at our house first and found them interesting and highly competent. They bonded immediately with our cat and sent us regular photo updates during the sit. On our return, our house was tidy and spotless, the cat was happy, the lawn had been mowed, the bed linen had been washed, there was milk in the fridge, used soap and washing-up liquid had been replaced, flowers in the kitchen and a long note about their stay. We cannot recommend them highly enough and hope to invite them to stay again.

Richard and Christine were the most wonderful housesitters! They took great care of my two dogs - who were knackered and well-fed on my return. When I got home from my trip, Richard and Christine had left my home very clean with some essentials stocked in my fridge and bathroom which was very thoughtful of them.

Richard and Christine recently house-sat for us, taking care of our dog Bonnie as well as our chickens and guinea pigs. I cannot praise them highly enough. This was our first time with house-sitters so we were a little trepidations, but Richard and Christine quickly soothed any lingering nerves. They were good enough to arrive a few days prior to our departure which allowed for a settling period with the menagerie. We were able to leave in confidence that all would be well. And so it was. We would recommend Richard and Christine without hesitation.
