About Colin & Clare
I retired from the Police in 2008 after an unblemished thirty years of loyal service. I enjoyed swimming, walking and playing tennis for a few years but in 2013, my wife Clare and I decided to go back to work for a new challenge.

I retired from the Police in 2008 after an unblemished thirty years of loyal service. I enjoyed swimming, walking and playing tennis for a few years but in 2013, my wife Clare and I decided to go back to work for a new challenge.
For the last three years we have been working and living at very large properties, Clare in the capacity of Housekeeper and myself in the capacity of handyman, gardener and chauffeur. When our employers were not in residence, we also had responsibility for the security and also for looking after the pets and other animals. These included dogs, cats, fish, ducks, geese and even horses and sheep.
We are animal lovers and have both had dogs and cats throughout our lives but sadly lost our beloved Border Terrier 'Jez' last year.
We are very confident, comfortable and experienced with them, especially with walks and cuddles.
We are responsible, honest, reliable and trustworthy and we both drive and are fit and active. We are non-smokers and extremely respectful, clean and tidy people.
We have really enjoyed working but now feel we need more flexibility and leisure time at this time in our lives.
House sitting is appealing exactly for those reasons. We get to choose when and where we stay, with the added attraction of looking after houses and lovely pets and exploring new locations.
We would love you to choose us to look after your pets and your property whilst you are away, giving you peace of mind to enjoy your holiday.

Why we want to house sit
We want to make this our vocation for the next couple of years for mutual benefits. We are pet lovers and are a very respectful, responsible mature couple wishing to explore new places.
Our experience
For the last three years we have worked on large Estates in London and Yorkshire and looked after lots of pets and livestock as well as keeping house and being responsible for all security. In all honesty we don't want or need the 24/7, 365 days work anymore and we want to enjoy ourselves and help others if we can.

The house was immaculately clean on my return, the garden had been well cared for and the cat had enjoyed his company, cuddling up with him in front of the telly in the evening.
I can highly recommend Colin as a house sitter and he is housesitting for me again in a couple of weeks.- Organised

As soon as we met Colin & Claire it was clear that we were leaving our house & pets in safe hands. Both Colin & Claire took in as much information as possible before we left for our trip, they asked questions & went through our pets routines, we really felt confident that we had made the right ch...
As soon as we met Colin & Claire it was clear that we were leaving our house & pets in safe hands. Both Colin & Claire took in as much information as possible before we left for our trip, they asked questions & went through our pets routines, we really felt confident that we had made the right choice in choosing them.
They kept in touch with regular photos & tales of their walks with the dogs, with three doggies & a snake they had plenty of tales to tell when we came home too! We were greeted by three very happy, relaxed dogs & a very chilled snake. Claire had a beautiful meal ready for us & we enjoyed a evening of wonderful stories with great company.
Colin & Claire have had a really positive impact on our dogs, our home was clean & tidy, they cleaned our snakes vivarium after he had done a pee, there was no fuss they just sorted it, everything was perfect.
They are lovely,caring, honest trustworthy people & we hope we will all meet again.- Organised
