We are a Portuguese/German couple moving to the SF Bay Area in August 2017. Tiago is a freelance photographer specialized in under-water and aerial photography that spends most of his time active outside or on photo shoots. Julia is a development economist and will spend the next year at the University of California, Berkeley working on her research. We both grew up with animals and love to take care of them, walking them, and playing with them - if you have an animal we are happy to look after it while you are gone!
We love to discover new countries, cultures, and areas and are excited to spend the next months in California! If you need somebody reliable and trust-worthy to help you look after your home - and feel like we are a good match - please don't hesitate to contact us for more information!
We are looking forward to hearing from you!!!
Why we want to house sit
While we are living abroad we are looking for the most diverse experiences possible to get to know our new home as much as possible. For us this means living in different environments and areas. And we love to take of animals - as we cannot be with our own animals while traveling, we both think that taking care of yours would be a great experience. We believe that house sitting allows us to combine our love for adventure and to discover new places with being around animals and getting to know new places and people!
Our experience
We have never been house sitters before for people that we didn't know but various times for our family and friends. Julia grew up on a little farm and is used to taking care of all kinds of animals. She was regularly taking care of her parent's dog and sister's dog and cat. Tiago is a dog owner himself and has sitting experience with his brother's and friends' dogs. We have both lived in different countries and many different houses (alone or in shared apartments) and never had any problems with our landlords or flatmates.
And we are excited to get to know new people and places through house-sitting!

I have never left a bad review for a sitter before but I really must this time. They are a perfectly sweet young couple but not reliable pet sitters. He has very bad allergies which makes this not the best choice. They were warned that my dog is a garbage digger and that the cans should be well secured and desirables should go directly outside. After I got home, the dog seemed fine for a bit but then got sicker and sicker. After trip to the vet, and a very expensive surgery to remove the garbage stuck in her intestine, she is now recovering--thank goodness. I would not recommend using these sitters.
