I enjoy housesitting because it lets me experience how it feels to live in a different country and culture. I'm a calm and tidy person, love hanging out with the pets, reading, writing, and feeling the rhythm of the locale. I like to stay fit, so if your pets like exercise, I'd be delighted to be their walking/hiking/jogging pal. I'm a mature, responsible, non-smoking/no drugs individual, and a home owner myself so I know how to take care of things properly and solve most household issues that may come up. Finally and importantly, I adore animals, and do a lot of pet-sitting even while I'm at home: you can see my excellent references on this site and I can send you links to other sites I'm listed on.
As a P.S., I have owned homes in remote/rural areas and on islands, so understand the special demands of maintaining a house in these types of locations if that's your situation.

Laura did an excellent job of looking after our home and animals, she was able to navigate a broken fridge that shorted out the house on day 2 and a car that developed issues with the electrics, all unforeseen but well managed, none-the-less. Animals were walked, watered and fed as per instructions and I would have no hesitation in recommending Laura for a house sit. Because she is a property owner herself she is well aware of what CAN happen and how to mitigate such occurrences.

Laura is the best house sitter ever. I already asked Laura to come back to Vanuatu in 2018 to again house sit for me
for a month. My pets were totally spoiled, the house was in perfect order.

Laura also had to cope with unexpected problems which were a result of house renovations after the 2013 cyclone
in Vanuatu and she managed to get all resolved.
Again, the best house sitter ever.

Laura house sat for us last summer (June/July 2015) on South Andros Island in the Bahamas. She took wonderful care of everything including our dog and cat. She was very diligent in her care as well as her communication with us as necessary during her stay. She's house-sitting for us again this summer and it's very comforting to be leaving the property and animals in her care. We'd highly recommend her to others and hope to keep our relationship active year after year.

Laura met with up with us beforehand to meet our dogs, and we were glad to see that both of them took to her immediately. She took notes of what we told her our usual routine was, and what we'd hope she be able to do with them that day. Laura was great, our dogs were clearly very happy with her from the photos she sent us and we'd recommend her to anyone needing a dog sitter.
