We are a couple in our 40/50s who are spending a year traveling around the world. Starting fall 2018 we’ve committed to one year traveling and are hopeful that this will be the start of our lifelong traveling lifestyle. Leanne, has been in senior leadership roles within the healthcare and human services field. Todd has been in research in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry. Additionally, we each have adult children that have become fully independent within the last few years. We are at a point in our lives where we don't have the same responsibilities and can explore our suppressed wanderlust.
Our past vacations have taken us throughout the US, UK, Europe, and the Caribbean. We are both avid and enthusiastic travelers with a passion for learning, adventure, meeting new people, immersing ourselves in local cultures and experiencing life on the road. We gravitate to endurance activities and enjoy hiking, running, cycling, sailing and scuba diving and love being outside whether it be in the country, city, coast or mountains. We generally approach life with a minimalist, and adventurous philosophy.
We have both been lucky enough to grow up with family pets, and have cared for farm livestock. In turn, family pets were an important component in raising our kids. Currently we are "grandparents" to two labs, (Ollie and Rory) and four felines, (Artie, Cheesenip, Nimbus and BC).
We both have enjoyed work and travel over the years and are thrilled to be able to focus on traveling and opening our house to others while we are away. We are particularly enthusiastic about house and pet sitting as it will allow us to meet people and pets around the globe and give back to the communities we travel to.

Why we want to house sit
Hi,
We are Leanne and Todd. We are taking a year off from work to travel around the world from late 2018 through 2019. When we learned of Trusted Housesitters we thought it an ideal way to spend more time in and become more connected to the communities we are traveling to. The ability to care for someones pets also selfishly satisfies our needs from missing our canine and feline "grandkids".
We are in our 40/50s and have had the privilege of including many pets (cats, horses, and dogs) in our family over the years and have been pet sitters for friends and families. We have always owned our homes and are familiar with routine home, pool and yard maintenance. We believe our home is our haven and sanctuary and will treat yours with the same care, respect, and love that we do for our own.

Our experience
Both of us grew up with and have taken care of family pets and livestock. As adults, we have been pet owners to cats and dogs. As our children are now off on their own and we are traveling more, we do not have any pets. Currently we are grandparents to two labs and four felines and we care for them regularly when we're available.
Collectively we have owned and maintained ten properties. We have cared for other peoples homes for short and long stays through informal networks over the years. The types of homes have ranged from condos to large homes. We are comfortable performing and troubleshooting basic home and yard maintenance tasks.

Oct 2018: Two Week sit in Florida for 2 rescue Greyhounds and two Italian Greyhounds, pool cleaning and house upkeep.
Nov 2018: One week sit in Virginia for rescue Boxer and two cats (one disabled), house upkeep.
December 2018: Six week house and pet sit on New Zealand South Island for two cats and large home. Garden, lawn and plant care.

Leanne and Todd were magnificent sitters. Totally reliable, warm, friendly people who are clearly genuine animal lovers. We came home to a beautifully tidy house and a very relaxed, happy, well-exercised and looked-after dog. Would recommend without hesitation.

Leanne and Todd spent the best part of 6 wks. house sitting and caring for my 2 cats over the summer season in NZ and I could not have wished for a better couple. Absolute fastidious when it comes to upkeep of all things, in all areas of the home and the grounds .They went over and beyond anyth...
Leanne and Todd spent the best part of 6 wks. house sitting and caring for my 2 cats over the summer season in NZ and I could not have wished for a better couple. Absolute fastidious when it comes to upkeep of all things, in all areas of the home and the grounds .They went over and beyond anything I ever felt deems a fair exchange.... OMG I never seen my home and grounds looking so loved!! I have been spoilt and the bar has been set very high indeed. Both cats were so content and happy - in fact one ignored me for a good day or so...
I would love to have Leanne and Todd here any time they wanted. The door is always open.

Leanne was a wonderful house/pet sitter. Our pets were definitely well taken care of, and so was our house. The house was spotless when we returned, she even cleaned the bathrooms! We would definitely welcome Leanne sitting for us again in the future.
