I do not own a dog myself because of my busy lifestyle. I am instantly best-friends with any dog I meet. Some day when my lifestyle is different, I will own a dog but for now I enjoy dogs owned by others. I always feel happier when I am around dogs.
Why I want to house sit
The idea of house-sitting and caring for a dog (s) is very appealing to me. I recently sold my house after many years of "feathering my nest" and gardening. It would feel very comfortable to be in someone's house with their dog (s). I would give the best of care to both house and dog. Also, to be in a different country, would be a bonus. Earlier in my career I taught English in China, India, Hungary and Thailand. It was always an adventure to be out of my comfort zone and learning about other people.
My experience
I have always been around dogs. I grew up with a family dog. I have done dog-sitting and doggy -day care for friends and family. I never tire of it. As I mentioned earlier, I volunteer for a rescue organization and it gives me much pleasure to be helping dogs and making sure they have a pleasant and safe life. I do have a cat - Stella - and she gets very annoyed when I bring a dog home :)

I have nothing but praise for Joan! She managed our strange ways of feeding (we raw feed our pets, so it's quite a bit different and takes some adjusting to) and our babies were clearly well loved in our absence. She also was great about sending pics and communicating how things were going whil...
I have nothing but praise for Joan! She managed our strange ways of feeding (we raw feed our pets, so it's quite a bit different and takes some adjusting to) and our babies were clearly well loved in our absence. She also was great about sending pics and communicating how things were going while we were away, so we didn't worry at all while we were gone. A bonus was that she left a perfectly neat house for us to return home to too. I would trust our home and babies in Joan's care again in a heartbeat.

Joan Davies was the best thing to ever happen to our beloved pet, Gizmo. She has rescued him from loneliness so often that he thinks she is part of his pack. You couldn't ask for a better person to care for your dog. Gizmo loves her, and so do we.
