My one and only pet dog, Yoshi Bear, recently passed over the rainbow bridge at 14 years young. I'm devastated, although I know he's in a better place without pain. I had him almost my entire adult life, and it's still an adjustment for me to not see that sweet face each day. Also weird to not have a "routine" that I've faithfully practiced for the past 14 years (really miss the walks).
I adopted Yoshi from a shelter at 4 months old, a shih tzu/Pomeranian mix. I'm an advocate of adoption, supporting shelters, and the adoption of older/senior/"bad breed" dogs. My next dog will likely be another rescue, probably an older/senior dog or "undesirable" breed (pitties are the BEST) that are often overlooked and ignored, the "underdogs" - pun intended :) They are just as lovable as puppies and pure breeds!
Yoshi was not the easiest in personality or temperament - aggressive with food/snacks, difficult to groom/bathe, hated cuddling/not the most affectionate, hated being handled, especially hated children and most adults (even me sometimes!). Despite all that, would not change a thing and would do it all over again - and again and again.
I'm based in NYC and a global Human Resources professional, with a focus in finance and fashion/retail. In 2018, I left the corporate world and started my own consulting practice specializing in Human Capital Management. Some of my clients are Oscar de la Renta, John Varvatos, and Bandier. As long as I have wifi, am able to work remotely from any location.
With the recent launch of my consulting practice, was able to travel to 20+ cities last year in 9 different countries (a record for me!). I'm a low key/maintenance traveler, usually travel solo with just a backpack/carry on, even when traveling internationally for 2+ weeks. I have excellent Airbnb reviews dating back 5+ years (ask me for my profile info!). I'm responsible, respectful, and clean. All I really need is a private room and a clean bathroom - wherever I am, absolutely do not plan on staying holed up in my lodgings the whole time!
I also have experience with difficult and senior dogs. The last few months of Yoshi's life was not easy, he required a lot more attention and care due to his aging needs (hearing/vision loss, incontinence, dementia, etc.).
Would love to complement the flexibility of my consulting practice and travel to new places - making new furry friends along the way would be such a welcome bonus to the memory making :)
Why I want to house sit
Looking to expand and broaden my view of the world (so big!) and try to maximize the experience of "local living" in new places. I also recognize the blessing of being in the wonderful position of having the option of being able to do something like this!
My experience
Experience with small/medium sized dogs, ranging from puppy to senior. Am open to ALL breeds, sizes, age, and personalities! I was incredibly fortunate to have trusted family and friends that were able to pet sit while I traveled, so I understand from first hand experience just how important and comforting it is to know your fur child is being taken care of in the best possible way.

Nicole was amazing. She took care of my house as if it was her own. I came back to a house that was cleaner than when I left it! Nicole also took care of my dog and sent me daily updates on his status.
