About Frank & Danielle

Frank and I (Danielle) have been together for about 3 and a half years now - oh how the time flies! We are finally fulfilling our independent dreams of traveling outside our native country. It took some time to get here, but we finally made it! We both work in the Float Industry (aka sensory deprivation tanks/isolation tanks). If you haven't heard of float tanks -- look them up, they offer a fascinating experience, and it's a great industry to be a part of.

Danielle - 32 years old, working in the Float Industry as Support for one of the growing Scheduling Software Companies (FloatHelm!) Working from home has it's benefits, and being able to visit places I have only dreamed about is quite the privilege! Born in Minnesota, I absolutely love being outside. If I could choose a profession I'd be a Veterinarian (perhaps sometime in the future!) I worked in a pet shop years past, taking care of salt water marine life, exotic birds, reptile, guinea pigs, kitties and puppies. . . you name it! I have a bachelors in Anthropology from the University of Portland. I adore spending time with loved ones, cooking for them, reading, and lots and lots of board games! Also, as an added bonus, I managed an award-winning Bed and Breakfast on beautiful Whidbey Island for a year.

Frank -- 31 years old, , and looking to travel around the world and see what the float industry is like in different places. I'm an American, mostly ostensibly at this point, and I've been living in Portland, Oregon for the last 8 years. In terms of education, I have a philosophy degree from UC Berkeley. In my spare time I enjoy puzzles, comedy shows and podcasts, board games, and Lego -- I am actually a moderator of the /r/Lego community on Reddit, and I have a blossoming Lego collection at home.

Why we want to house sit

House-sitting is the perfect opportunity to experience life in new places as locals live it, and allows us the ability save money on boarding costs, and instead use that for travel costs, allowing us the ability to experience a wider variety of places on our trips.

Our experience

Danielle - Constant influx of kitties in my life, both indoor and outdoor, as well as pups and other wonderful creatures. Your pets will be in the best of care -- I've worked at a pet shop and have tons of experience with a variety of animals! I also know how to hold down a fort. . . I managed a Bed and Breakfast and we will take great care of your home (including gardens or any other plant maintenance as well)!

Frank - I've grown up with pets, and there's always been at least one dog and one cat around pretty much the entirety of my existence (with a couple bunnies as well). I have pet-sit for relatives and friends a few times now. I also have my own cat Books who I house-sit on a regular basis, since she lives with me.
