Why I want to house sit
I have traveled quite a bit in my life as a tourist and teacher. At my stage in life I would still love to travel, but at a slower pace. Caring for someone's home would be ideal. I've always been a pet lover--fur or feathers. I miss traveling to other countries and communities and would love staying in one spot to really get to know the area and the culture.
I feel confident that you would have peace of mind knowing that your home and your pets are well loved and cared for with my hands.
My experience
I have always enjoyed keeping my own home neat and clean. Being a teacher has taught me a lot about organization and responsibility. I have always had a pet since I was young and love caring for animals.
Besides already having my rescued Lilly cat, I am still looking for a dog to rescue at various shelters because I care about the well-being of the world's creatures. I donate to organizations that help abused animals.
My first house/pet sit was in Southern California caring for an adorable Terrier/mix named Toby. He slept every night on my bed. We were great buddies. I walked him 3 times a day, gave him his meds, and cared for his skin irritations. It makes me happy to help other animals in need of a friend while you are away.
Another year, I traveled to Utah to house sit for a couple with a large dog. Their sweet older dog and I became fast friends. We walked daily and played ball in the yard. I even shoveled snow!
The couple gave me a glowing report by email and were extremely happy with their clean house and happy dog.
Since then, having earned a good reputation, I have cared for many homes with pets, near and far. My next sit will be in Ajijic, Mexico...a good place to practice my Spanish!

I met Chris 6 years ago when we were both taking a yoga class and now she is a dear friend and a yoga instructor. People love her classes. She is also a part time substitute teacher in Douglas County, Oregon. She is called constantly to substitute because they love her teaching abilities. I have a small dog who loves her and it seems all animals do the same. We are currently house and dog sitting in San Clemente, California for 3 weeks. She is the dog's , Toby, favorite and he sleeps on her bed every night. She is a mature woman who has traveled widely and is liked by everyone that meets her.
